Could we be getting some casting news on the live-action Nightwing movie in development with WB and Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie)? An interaction with a fan on Twitter reveals that we might learn when the film is being planned for release, however, it will still be too early to discuss casting.

If Nightwing delivers an update, what does that mean for the other DC Film Universe projects currently in development that are still without a release date? An update on where things stand with Man of Steel 2 would definitely renew some optimism.

News of a live-action Nightwing movie first surfaced in February 2017. Bill Dubuque (The Accountant, A Family Man) is writing the script. Little is known about the project other than the fact that McKay wants to ground it in realism and use as little CGI as possible.

The project is also separate from the live-action Titans series currently in production for DC Entertainment's soon-to-launch streaming platform. Actor Brenton Thwaites was cast to portray Dick Grayson in that particular project.

This is the DCEU, so I guess he will probably announce that he's no longer directing it.

Honestly, an awesome Nightwing movie would make me forget a lot of what's been given to us so far. Cmon DC...knock this one out of the park.

I'm surprised this is still a thing. McKay is a good director so I hope he can pull it off.

I like the idea of cancelling the Nightwing and Batgirl standalone movies and making a team-up movie with both of them.

@Nightwing1015 - Both movies are inexpensive to make and since both have directors attached there's isn't a reason to cancel either.

@Nightwing1015 - love the idea of a team up, great idea. But I wld do a mil differently. Nightwing and batgirl teamup movie first or following a batgirl solo. No matter what I want the batgirl solo movie.
