I suppose it shouldn't come as too huge of a surprise that The Joker (played by Heath Ledger) topped the list of results after we asked you which of the villains from The Dark Knight Rises trilogy was your favourite. Bane was deemed the best of the rest, while there was little difference between the votes cast for Ra's Al Ghul, Scarecrow and Two-Face, with Talia Al Ghul a fair distance behind. Check out the results in full below and be sure to sound off with your thoughts on them in the usual place!

Joker, Bane, Two-face (yeah the actual Two-face character only appeared briefly but I'm counting Dent too), Catwoman, Ras, Scarecrow, Talia.

SageMode - 7/26/2012, 1:58 PM
Two-Face was the most comic book-accurately portrayed villain in the Nolan Batverse, but in appearance and characterization. He should've had more screentime.

The only real surprise here is that Talia got any votes at all.

ralfinader - 7/26/2012, 2:02 PM
Wow. Two polls now with a third of the numbers that "Best CBM of the Summer and Best Studio" poll managed (over 24000!). You add up all the voters on this poll, the "What did you think of TDKR" poll, and you still would be at half of the numbers of the "Best Mainstream Summer CBM" one. Looks like voters for the Avengers and TDKR in that one cheated a bit (well, TDKR a bit more, lol 11 thousand+ votes).

Still, Joker is way better than any of the other options.

Taila came too late in the film to be considered the main villain. She was like the mastermind, the puppet master.

I'm honestly surprised Two-Face didn't get more votes.

Joker for sure. On another note just got back from watching TDKR, amazing movie and in my opinion it has the most comic book feeling out of all Nolan's movie.
1) The Dark Knight
2) The Dark Knight Rises
3) Batman Begins

I'm with you Joker08. Two-Face gets criminally over looked time and time again on this site. Aaron Eckhart should get more love for what he did in TDK.

Well, obviously Joker. But Bane also deserves some credits.

@ThunderCougarFalconBird

Cillian Murphy's cameo appearance in TDKR was in my opinion terrible. He didn't even act like the Scarecrow we'd come to fear from Batman Begins. For this scenes to have any effect whatsoever, he definitely needed to be wearing the mask. I expect those people who haven't watched BB or TDK more than once or twice didn't even know he was.

@monkeyballs3

I believe you directed your second comment at me rather than ThunderCougarFalconBird.

His cameo in the film, without even the mask in front of him, was a disappointment. At the very least the mask should have been somewhere in the shot(s) of him declaring death or exile in the court.

Bane was not good. For me:

1. Two-Face - because he was tragic and awesome
2. Joker
3. Scarecrow
4. Ra's Al Ghul - who was not good
5. Bane - who was worse than Ra's
6. Talia - who was pointless

Wait what?! Heath ledgers death caused them to change Harvey dents death? So the joker was suppose to kill off two face? After he was hung up by batman on the skyscraper? Someone please answer these questions!
Scooby

@MrEko the same way I'm feeling. The more I think about it the more I feel like Hardy knocked it out of the park. Plus you really felt for Bane in that scene at the end with the Talia reveal. I gotta watch it again. I found myself liking it even more the second time - and I thought it was great the first time.

1. Joker
2. Ra's Al Ghul
3. Bane
4. Catwoman(I consider her a villian turned hero)
5. Two-Face
5. Scarecrow
6. All the mobsters(Falcone, Maroni, etc)
7. Zsasz
8. Talia
CBMJamie
CBMJamie - 7/26/2012, 2:36 PM
Talia was neither frightening or intimidating, threatening or domineering. Her character was severely under-developed and as a result ranks lowest out of the 'main' villains.

Even Falcone has a claim to be a better villain, and he was arrested half-way through Batman Begins, never to be seen again in the trilogy.

LOL Matthew Modine is my hero. The guy didn't give 2 [frick]s about insulting the rivals. These days, a bunch of corporate higher ups put on fake smiles complementing the rivals. Modine was hilarious
