RUMOR: Matthew Modine's Character Nixon In TDKR Not All That He Seems?

Possible plot SPOILERS regarding both Bane and Modine's character Nixon follow. We had been led to believe that he was a politician and a villain, but maybe not! Click for the details..

Cosmicbooknews seem to have a bit of inside info leaking through about Christopher Nolan's Batman threequel. So far nothing has been confirmed or debunked so we will have to take the following with a pinch of salt for now too. Anyway, here is what they say about Nixon..

Possible SPOILERS ahead..

I've been told Matthew Modine actually plays a CIA Special Agent who comes to Gotham with a small CIA team to work alongside Commisioner Gordon and his Police Department in bringing down Bane.

The source was unsure if Modine's character initially comes to Gotham to capture Batman, but is positive that at the end Nixon works to take down Bane, and realizes that Batman isn't the threat he is made out to be -- after Bane exposes Harvey Dent's murders.

Not the corrupt politician we had been led to believe the character was, and in fairness the leaked set images of Modine, gun in hand, alongside Joseph Gordon Levitt's John Blake would seem to lean towards the above info being accurate. But we will see. Bat fans will hopefully get a look at the second trailer for The Dark Knight Rises with Sherlock Holmes: Game Of Shadows in December.

"Bane exposes Harvey Dent's murders"?
Maybe it could be a piece to the puzzle of Bane possibly being a sympathetic villain. Perhaps he actually cares about Batman, wanting to show that Bats was innocent, and/or is forced into fighting him and destroying Gotham, or something along those lines.
All I gotta say is that this movie will be crazy.

CIA agents wouldn't be letting themselves known to city cops.. I think your bull-s tipper meant FBI agents... so it's false because the tipster didn't even understand this.. why would CIA agents who work outside of the States would be working with local cops?.. to find a murder located in one city? lol... again FBI makes sense if Batman is being pinned for multiple murders

Ok just had an idea the other day, don't know if it's been discussed but wondered what people think.

Do you think it's possible that Juno Temple is playing Talia? We don't know her role yet, and we think Talia is in the film, and the actress who is playing young Talia (Joey King) is blonde, and does look a bit like a younger templ. I know hair colour isn't necessarily a certain but just throwing it out there. (I would make an article but I don't know how).

What do you think?

saw this and thought "i didn't know nolan casted Harrison Ford from the 90's" lol

but for real he is probably a fed. and it bugs me how JGL hasn't done much on set. like he is a farely well known actor just to have holding a gun.

wonder if there are filming his scenes in secret and knowning that is is Nolan they probably are

I'm still betting that The League of Shadows was behind The Joker's rampage in The Dark Knight.... How else could a psychotic sociopath like The Joker pull off the elaborate plan with all the manpower and logistics that he had at his disposal? The League financed him in order to bring chaos to Gotham and cause it to tear itself apart... the same plan Ras had in Begins... This would also explain how Bane and The League know about Dent... the only other people who know were Batman and Gordon... I doubt either of them speak with The League on a regular basis...

@Randymongoose
I can almost guarantee Joey King will play Sissy Porter from "Legends of the Dark Knight: Venom". She is the spitting image of the character.

In "Venom", Sissy Porter is a kidnapped girl that ends up drowning to death because Batman isn't physically strong enough to break her bonds.

I think Bane reveals Dent's murders to show Gotham that everything they thought they knew was a lie and could possibly use the people of Gotham as part of his army? To revolt against the lies they have been shielded from?

For the life of me, I can't understand why more people don't take that leaked prologue we saw as truth. I'd bet money that it it. Bane has been watching Batman since Ras died. He's seen the Joker come and go, and watched what happened with Dent. He breaks the Bat in the first scene, exposes Dent to hurt the city, and Batman comes back at the end to win. Its obvious. But I cant wait to see it.

maybe its because i don't really read batman titles (in fact never really have) so i only know him through justice league, but who are all these characters? levit, modine, talia? too many f'n characters ... TDK had two mains (bats, joker), 5 strong supportings, and a small army of smaller supporting characters ... somehow he pulled it all off of course, but can he do it again?

(btw, kudos for the first usage i've seen of "threequel". we can add that to the CBM jargon list, along side: prequel, reboot and requel.

Important Plot Point:
Bane exposes the Harvey Dent murders not necessarily to clear Batman's reputation but to demoralize Gotham City.
Gotham has memorialized Dent by naming Harvey Dent Plaza after him.

Now what they need to do is bring Dent back to life and have him stashed away in Arkham as 'Two Face'..

I feel like I'm going crazy whenever I read about TDKR, cause everything about it seems awful.

Bane looks tiny and retarded, Catwoman's got a horse face and a boys body, JGL as a random cop is a huge waste of talent, Modine looks way too much like Harvey Dent, and the man who single-handedly made TDK awesome....is dead.
