As everyone is well aware of Tom Hardy is a tad bit hard to understand in the prologue for next Batman film. Now, Christopher Nolan, the director, has stated that he won't make any significant changes to the sound mix, even though an overwhelming number of fans are left guessing what marble mouth is saying.

When Christopher Nolan's brother Jonah, the co-screenwriter of the film, was asked about Hardy's voice and the controversy he replied, "I gotta tell you, I think what Tom Hardy’s doing with the role is spectacular. I have the benefit of seeing a little bit more than the audience has seen at this point. It’s pretty spectacular."

He was also asked to comment on the IMAX prologue. He stated, "It’s an amazing team with my brother, David Goyer and myself. Those are two great guys to work with and brainstorm with. I think Chris had long wanted to do sort of the aerial spectacular. It’s such a good fit for the Imax cameras that he likes to shoot with and so that was a long time in the making."

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

I think everyone that is complaining about the voice are either just picking on something to complain about that just doesn't agree with their vision of the character. Honestly his voice would be praised if it was in a bond film.

It isn't the voice we deserve, but it's the one we need right now...

I know it's difficult when a lot of people on this site have no patience, but is it too much to ask to just wait to see the finished product??? We could all hear his voice clear as day in the trailer. So what if most of you couldn't make him out in a horribly bootlegged trailer? Just save you judgments for when you see it how it was meant to be seen!!!

The voice sounds awesome just needs to be clearer so EVERYONE can understand it FULLY. Nolan (and Nolanites) need to get off the high horse and accept that it may need fixing.

I think it sounds sick! Creepy, flawed, foreign, weak, powerful... Mix of all kinds of shit... Better than a straight American accent.. gives him personality, and trust, everyone is going go be imitating his voice, just like they did with the joker.

Bane sounds great.
My problem with the Prologue is the cinematography.
While the action is spectacular...
The whole unmasking part was extremely lame.
Probably due to IMAX operating constraints.
I think there were better angles to showcase Bane's menacing demeanor.

I'm glad they used filming techniques to make Tom Hardy look bigger... lol Bane's voice and appearance is so disappointing. Could have been so much better.

Wait to see the finished product. I'm sure when we see this beast of a man beat the living sh#t out of batman and pick him up break his freaking back we're all gonna be like holy sh#t.

And we won't be thinking about what his voice sounds like.

PEOPLE GOTTA REALIZE THE FILM AS A WHOLE INSTEAD OF PICKING AT PARTS OF IT. SEE THE WHOLE THING BEFORE YOU JUDGE IT.

"BEN GODDAM PIZ MASH, BOO AB PY PRMISSON DO DAI!"

Pretty much all I heard the first time, and I'm pretty much a Nolanite. I have no problem with anything they've done/changed in the film, it's just Bane's voice, it's actually kinda ridiculous.
As for watching bootlegged trailers @ WellDrawn, I watched the official version released on iTunes and Youtube by WB, not some crap a kid with a camera recorded in a cinema
