FANFIC SCENARIO: (READ THIS BEFORE YOU VOTE, IMPORTANT!)
“Can a single atom make a dent against the vastness of a universe?” – anonymous

He has been to the other side of the galaxy and found nothing there left for him, so back to the world he calls home, he returned. The people he once championed have lost their faith in him but faith too returned. The villains he once fought also did return, and return they did with much vengeance. The woman she love, for a moment was lost to him but she too returned and she returned with something much more. Things return, feelings return and so do people.

“I am SUPERMAN and I have returned.”

He lost the woman she cared for from a twisted plot of a criminal mind. He lost his home to a fire caused by a criminal organization. He lost his parents to a gunshot by a man for a petty crime. He is losing a lot to the darker nature of men. Today he is going to lose one thing more, the respect of the innocent. He becomes a criminal for a crime he did not commit. This is what BATMAN is for now but not for long.

“The DARK KNIGHT will rise.”

SUPERMAN closes his eyes and starts lo listen. He is in deep space trying to hear what is happening in the earth below. He felt a slight shift in his body if his eyes were opened he would have seen the blue tinged hue engulfed the whole planet for a microsecond. He then hears sirens, telescopic vision showed him police squad cars chasing a heavily armored man in a specialized motorcycle but they are being left behind fast. The man was darting out of the city into the woods toward a cave. SUPERMAN decided to follow. Two sonic booms after he is in the opening of the cave facing a man in a bat suit.

The battle is not planned. The arena is the Batcave (giving BATMAN a home court advantage considering that Superman already has a lot of advantage)

how is this even a question? and how could anyone vote batman? superman is one of the most powerful characters, and bats is a regular man. stop acting like bats could win

This is just not even funny anymore . We should do one of these polls where we could see who was voting for who . This is like people thinking that a 2 year old baby could beat up his adult father .

I dont understand this it would be like most marvel people thinking that Cap could beat Thor , it just does not make any sense unless most are just voting this way for a joke .

movie wise i dont know it would be hard cause batman dosent know much about superman unlike in the comics batman knows everyone's weakness and how to take them down plus he has beatin superman before "kicked his ass!" all over metropolis well at least in the sewers lol

I do not doubt Supermans powers. He is beyond superhero, figuratively he is an ideal god. Batman is a human, with an intellect far beyond his superpowered companions but never the less human.
Dr. Manhattan could easily defeat Ozymandias when it came to pure force but Ozymandias outsmarted him. I must however digress that Dr. Manhattan and Ozymandias are very different from Superman and Batman. I do not doubt the possibility of Batman outsmarting Superman as the latter is naive and irrational. Watchmen is so very different than this but are acceptable and allegeable analogies in this latent comperative.
An intractable problem can only be resolved by stepping beyond conventional solutions. I don't see Batman forseeing a fight with Superman, and therefore Batman will lose. As some sort of consolation for the ones bothering to read my comment; there are no superhero in the JLA that can possibly defeat Superman with pure force and powers.

oh boy this again. Im a biased batfan. So Batman BUT I ask this who do you respect more? Batman is like a combination of special forces/SWATl/MMA/Ninja who made himself into what he is through determination.

Anybody could be Superman if they were from Krypton=lame

Also why is ok when Lex kicks Superman's ass with a kryptonite ring but when Bats does fanboy cry foul

this argument is redundant. have we all forgotten where bats got the ring in the first place? it was from SUPES! why? because superman believes that batman is the only one who can take him out if he goes rogue, might i mention any time superman has been beaten by bats supes has been holding back and still he believes that if he went AWOL and pulled all his punches that bats could still stop him. so unless kal is an idiot (naive definitely)thats how its gonna go down. its about character its not about who has bigger powers if this was a fighting game ya superman dominates everything, thats what kids do who would win? its more complicated than that. in the comics batman, in the films superman.

This is ridiculous. Supes could destroy Batman without ever getting close enough for the kryptonite to work. Even if he did, we're talking about the Batman and Superman from the movies. In the given situation, Batman doesn't know Superman's coming after him and hasn't prepared. Nolan's Batman would have no chance. U could argue the scarecrow gas like in the article, but chances are it wouldn't affect him unless it was laced with kryptonite. Even then he's just gonna freak out and probably forget to hold back the destroy everything until either he snaps out of it or goes insane and destroys the earth. Any way you put it, especially in the situation given in the article, Superman wins. This isn't a popularity contest, it's to see who would win inn a fight. Nolan's movies were better, but if the characters fought, Superman would win. Period!

I can't remember exactly when but it was by John Byrne and Lex had the kryptonite ring and litterally slapped superman a couple of times and said something like "you're not worth killing" and tossed him out. I cant find an image.

Im beginning to think all you superfans erased proof from the internet!!!!!

@TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY - The Dark Knight Returns by frank miller pages 90-95 batman and superman fight with equal exchange, decisive victory for batman. fight ends only because bats ingests a pill causing his heart to practically stop beating. batman is nearly 55 in this continuity superman still in his physical prime due to being kryptonian. considered to be the second best batman comic in existence next to batman year one (also by frank miller) it is considered to be the definitive batman. batman uses a variety of tactics and there is some help from green arrow and robin which is minimal and could have been easily replicated by the simplest of machines. the tech used is quite realistic compared to other comic book technology. prime example amongst many other not quite as satisfying ones of batman beating superman.

The thing that seems to upset Superfans is when you point out that their "God" hero has weaknesses to exploit. Now this image I found is from the same comic I was referring when Lex was literally slapping Superman in his office. I cant seem to find the slapping but here is some man handling. Now if ol pudgy Luthor can do this why does it offend you when the badass of DCU does it?

@TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY - you wouldn't happen to be female would you because I think I'm in love! Not many people even come close to understanding Superman. I hate when people use that TDKR scene as "proof" that Batman can defeat Superman. Like you said, Superman was still recovering from a full on nuclear blast, he was shot with kryptonite and Bats had a powered suit. Plus there's the very important fact that Superman is only trying to restrain Bruce where as Batman is prepared to kill Superman in that scene. And finally, if memory serves, Batman didn't actually win the fight, he just held Superman off for a short time before he could put the rest of his plan into action.

I think you misunderstood what I said. It had nothing to do with "Superman's desire to kill Luthor" as you put it, but more with the fact that you guys seem to not really care that Luthor slaps him around but when we discuss in an open forum the possibility of the ultimate human being doing the same with the same advantage you superfans freak.

@TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY-BornToRun whilst it is not part of the main continuity ill give you that he is a far more realistic version than tho one in the main comics and has many more flaws as a person, i would imagine anyone arguing this would prefer we were using a 55 year old batman. ive allready stated that if this were flat out powers in a fighting video game like street fighter and ones personality was totally and completely absent then yes superman will defeat evrything, but ones personality what they do to prepare taking advantage of ones weakness (being battered by a missile) how they affect the other combatant is all apart of the charcter. if its kryptonian on earth vs scary guy in batsuit with gadgets yes we have a winner for supes. but if you take the character personality and all, not DING DING round one, then i feel that batman is more than capable of winning (not saying its a sure thing supes is incredibly powerful). i suppose it really depends on what your context is

haha the only way Superman would win is if he gets the red Kryptonite....then he becomes all bad and shit. lets face it Superman is to nice to ever really hurt Batman.....but Bats will get pretty damn close to killing you....but he wont kill.....he'll just get close to it lol
