THE WALKING DEAD's Jeffrey Dean Morgan And Lauren Cohan Want To Play FLASHPOINT Batman And Joker

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice kicked off by revisiting the fateful night Thomas and Martha Wayne were gunned down in Crime Alley, but the biggest surprise for fans was seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan playing the iconic DC Comics couple.

They'd both starred in Supernatural and would later cross paths again in The Walking Dead, and with such noteworthy actors cast as Thomas and Martha, fans looking forward to the Flashpoint movie that was in the works around that time were excited by the prospect of Morgan and Cohan returning as Batman and The Joker.

Unfortunately, that iteration of The Flash movie didn't happen, and the door appears to have closed on us getting to see them join the DC Extended Universe in these roles.

Talking to ComicBook.com, Morgan and Cohan made it clear that, despite it being unlikely, they remain interested. "I would love that," the actress enthused. "I would love [to do that]. Let it be said and known and documented. We both would love for this to happen."

Morgan added: "Lauren and I have talked about that for years. I'd love to see her version. You never know. It's true. You really never know with DC in particular, but everything is so kind of complicated within the Snyder-verse of it all, unfortunately."

"I think it was something that we still can like giggle about and say, 'Well, look where we started as a married couple. That had a rough ending," Morgan continued. "I think people forget that Lauren and I have known each other for a long time and did get a chance to work together before, and also kind of just missed crossing paths on Supernatural. So we've got kind of this history together on screen prior to The Walking Dead. And of course, this is what we'll be remembered for."

It's definitely interesting to think about what might have been, and while it's certainly possible Andy Muschietti's version of The Flash will give Morgan and Cohan the opportunity to return, we're not banking on it. After all, Warner Bros. is looking to move on from Zack Snyder's vision for the DCEU, and bringing back these two would obviously have the opposite effect.
