BATMAN v SUPERMAN: Ben Affleck Reveals Which AVENGERS Actors He's Influenced By And Why
That's right, Ben Affleck has taken inspiration from two of the members of The Avengers cast for one aspect of his take on Batman, and you can find out who and what right here! The actor also reveals the six figure sum Warner Bros. wanted when he asked to take the suit home...
Ben Affleck made an appearance on Live! with Kelly and Michael earlier today to promote Gone Girl, and as you might expect, talk soon turned to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. These questions were a little different however, and the actor was quizzed on working out to become the Caped Crusader, revealing some surprising inspiration in the process! "I have been getting bigger, yeah. I have been working out a lot. These are not roles that you can do and not exercise for. Audiences have now increasing expectations. Like, in the 50s, you could just be like Burt Lancaster and tall. That was ok, but now you see guys like Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans and all these guys whose bodies are just, you think, 'How is that even possible?'" Comparisons have been made between those two cast members of The Avengers and the very buff Ben Affleck, so it's interesting that he clearly aspired to get in similar shape to play Batman!
In a pretty amusing tale, Affleck then went on to reveal what happened when he asked Warner Bros. whether he could take the suit home at the end of filming. "I think I'm gonna get a lot of birthday party requests when this comes out," he joked before adding: "So I asked them, like, 'What about maybe taking the suit home at the end of the thing?' And they're like, 'For $100,000 you can.' I was like, 'Maybe I'll just take a picture.' A lot goes into it, there's a lot of designers and as you see there, these movies have become a big deal. They spend a lot of money and the guy who did the suits did a very good job." Many thanks to Batman-News for the audio recording that these quotes were transcribed from!
