To promote her upcoming Oscar-worthy performance as Margaret Keane in Tim Burton's Big Eyes, five-time Academy Award nominee and current Lois Lane, Amy Adams took up hosting duties on NBC's Saturday Night Live. Even though she doesn't perform any Superman-related sketches, she does host a quality show with more than a few noteworthy sketches. Also, thanks to the nature of it being the SNL Christmas episode, more than a few beloved alums made guest appearances including a very unexpected appearance from Mike Myers, who reprises his Dr. Evil role from the Austin Powers movies!

Check out the bumpers and sketches from Adams' show below!

@JediPhilosopher comparing films to video games in a derogatory fashion makes no sense in this day and age because, for one thing, Man of Steel had a hell of a lot going on beneath the surface and is far more than the generic over the top action movie people claim it is; and two, video games are really evolving into a legitimate and nuanced story telling medium in their own right nowadays, just look at The Last of Us, the recent Tomb Raider reboot, inFamous, Sleeping Dogs, to an extent GTA (IV and V in particular)... there are many more examples, I'm sure, but I'm far too casual a gamer to be able to list more off the top of my head.

Of course, you may be simply comparing MOS to a video game due to the reliance on CGI, and while I'd agree there are instances where it isn't quite up to scratch (and may go on a bit too long), it's nothing compared to the likes of Star Wars Ep 1-3, the Hobbit trilogy, even some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's output - it's just that Man of Steel, being a Superman movie, was able to show a lot more unrealistic things with the CGI, such as a battle between two flying men who shoot fire from their eyes and had enough strength to throw one-another around like ragdolls, etc.
