Michael Keaton, the man under the cowl in 1989's Batman, has become the latest in an ever growing line of Ben Affleck supporters. In an interview with The Today Show Keaton had this to say:

He’s going to be great. I don’t follow it much, but I guess there was some sort of… I don’t know why people get excited about things. Frankly, I don’t understand it.

As much as I was at first, for the lack of a better word...disappointed...with Affleck's casting as Batman. The idea has grown on me, and i'm interested in how it plays out.

Just wish we got a glimpse of the suit or something for now....

Affleck is going to go down as the best Batman/Bruce Wayne ever

Keaton has so far been the best. He is the only one who played the tortured Bruce Wayne with the rich playboy persona and was also terrifying as Batman in the shadows.

Bale was an adequate Batman but his Bruce Wayne sucked.

Kilmer was solid but the movie was mediocre, and let's not bring up the Clooney debacle.

If Affleck can a find a good balance between Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne and Michael Keaton's Batman that would be perfect.

He's talking from experience. Everyone thought he was gonna suck. Look how that turned out.

It's crazy to think that 50,000 people sent letters to WB about Keaton's casting, LETTERS! you know much effort it takes to write and mail a letter LOL
If the internet was around back then, those letters would be the equivalent of at least 250,000 internet signatures today.

Did l0rdleg0las really just say Kilmer was "solid" and Bale was "adequate"...? All credibility lost.

They should have asked him to come back to the suit to be this "seasoned" Batman that they wanted... M.K. still got it (as seen in Robocop)

Keaton would make a good Batman villain, but who...?

Imagine Keaton coming back and playing Joker this time. It's farfetched I know but it wouldn't be too far off of how he played Beetlejuice.

Keaton and Bale are completely different Batmans, both perfect in their own special way.

Then there's Kilmer and Clooney.

Jedi,

You are nearest the truth. Keaton wants to forget that no one understood Burton's picking him. They initially wanted Bill Murray and it was going to be more of an update to Adam West's version.
If you watch the first round from Keaton to Clooney, you will see the progression of silliness and camp took hold in 'Returns.' It grew by leaps and bounds in 'Forever.' Obviously, 'and Robin' was the epitome of ridiculousness and may as well have been Adam West all over again.

WB , don't you show me the suit before the trailer , for real , i can't wait to see it , but it would really deafeat the purpose (of anticipation) to show it too early .
We all know it's going to be [frick]in amazing , it's going to be THE BATMAN . I konow it . As for affleck , isn't he the most suited to play bruce ? i mean he lokks like him , like really he is MR wayne (say it it with banes voices if you want) MR WAYNE !

Michael keaton, ugliest Bruce Wayne ever and shortest Batman with the biggest head in a cowl until they cast Ben Affleck who will easily take that title now.
