The latest theatrical trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice debuted late last night, and fans have been discussing what they saw all day. The general consensus seems to be that while there was a lot to like in there, it definitely had a few dodgy moments (was the silly humor out of place?) and wasn't met with the same positive reaction that the last teaser was. Plus, there's also that first, much maligned glimpse of what we assume is Doomsday at the end.

Personally I was very happy with the trailer up until that monstrosity landed in front of me. The exchange between Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) and Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) was easily the highlight, and Jesse Eisenberg didn't even annoy me (that much) as a very animated Lex Luthor. We had the usual array of action shots, and a great glimpse of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman dropping in to save the the day. If I had one major complaint aside from Doomsday it's the score. I'm not sure what Snyder and his editors were thinking, but it's so generic you'd think one of 'em just Googled "epic trailer music" and went with that.

Overall I'd say I liked it, but would have to add that I was a little disappointed given how effective the last trailer was. What about you guys? Vote away, and be sure to elaborate in the usual place.

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio from David S. Goyer's screenplay, and is scheduled to open March 25, 2016.

It was good. Not as good as the SDCC trailer but good. I liked the exchange between Bruce and Clark talking about Batman and Superman the most.

I don't get the Doomsday hate. Doomsday is a character with less dimensions then Eddie Brock. Only reason he looks like Abomination is because Abomination didn't look anything like Abomination in the comics but more like Doomsday in the film. Doomsday still is a shit villain and character. He's a plot device. Only created to kill Superman and nothing more. How he looks doesn't look bad. Spikes could have been longer but still looks like Doomsday.

Only thing that gets me is Jesse as Lex. I just don't like it. He has some great lines but he acts goofy. I didn't like Jesse as Lex when I heard it, I warmed up to him with the SDCC but still wasn't sold, and now I'm still not sold. Still some great lines. The first trailer had Lex talking about Superman as the devil from the sky, now he refers to himself as the devil.

Overall this film will no doubt be better than MOS. Terrio's writing here is great. Hopefully Snyder tells the story great.

It was a very good trailer. The one negative I'd give it was the editing, which seemed to follow the pace of the music, which was good music. As the music would jump here or there, so would the trailer. It's never a good idea to use a very powerful and moving piece of music and edit the beat of the trailer to it. It's always best to use a slow song if you want to do that, NOT a fast one. That said, this trailer was very good, damn near amazing. It took the arguments from the people who would say "omg, these trailer are to dark and grim and NO JOKES!" and turned them over on there heads.

It was campy, action packed, and just had the slights tone of "bad bad evil stuff" that you need to make a superhero trailer work. And the people mentioned that 'omg, the trailer gave to much away" have forgotten that the very plot line released to us by WB months ago essentially played out the film for us beat-by-beat, it just didn't have any names in it. We knew Batman and Superman would fight, we also knew they'd team-up, and we also knew they'd face an "earth shattering" threat. So to act like you didn't know that shit after the trailer is preposterous.

Also, there are still several ways this film can pan out. There are still several twists and turns that could happen along the way as well. So you can either enjoy the ride, or continue to bitch.

I, for one, am going to enjoy the ride.

I liked it. Especially the Bruce & Clark dialogue.

I hope there is plenty of humorous moments.

This was an awesome trailer I loved the Clark and Bruce Dialogue and the humour which will be great to see. Jesse was great as Lex and I found him funny in the trailer. I also liked the theme and Gal as Wonder Woman having a role at the end Can't wait

It was okay. Lex was just awful and campy. Even if he is "playing" with Clark and Bruce, it could be a little (a lot) more subtle. So many filters and so much hazy CGI reminds me of the lackluster Hobbit movies.

Interested to see the newest cinematic Batman but I hope he's not actually branding people. Not very heroic. For all of the bleating about how sophisticated the DCEU is going to be, invariably it looks like it will conclude with a brawl. At night. With a lot of CGI.

I'm in the underwhelming group. It was kinda cool, but I didn't really feel much more excited or chilled. The last trailer gave me chills. The first Force Awakens teaser gave me chills. The Civil War trailer gave me chills.

I can't really peg why it didn't do it for me, but it just didn't. I think the Doomsday reveal being met with humor after that heavy, building music just wasn't the right choice for the moment. I understand that Marvel tends to do similar things, but I feel I was expecting something different from this trailer.

I knew from day one they wouldn't completely disregard humor in their films. That's just silly. But I kind of hoped for more Nolan (please don't judge me) humor. Subtle and necessary and personal, but not in big moments. At least from the serious characters.

Another thing is I really enjoyed the presence of Lex in the previous trailer, but not so much here. He seemed spastic. Just bouncy and all over the place. I'm not going to be one of those whiners about source material for any project, but the character seems off to me. Not necessarily in a "that's not the real Lex" way, but a "maybe Eisenberg will be the weak link" kind of way, even though I hope not.

I'm with @LEVITIKUZ -
Lex Luthor was annoying as hell overacting trying to be like his predecessors. I thought they were going away with campy Lex and more Michael Rosenbaum or Clancy Brown type Lex.
Hope they break his neck too.

I did not see an inch of comedy in this movie if their was a funny scene I missed it.

Whatever that monster is or who is more like meh.. seen that before. They should have actually tried a villain not seen on screen.

@chimuchone

In my opinion, ^ This is far more original, and a far more interesting take....

Than something like the monstrosity created below, which would have been a rehash of so many villains that we have seen on screen over the years....

Superman is an evil jerk and batman is a coward! What is Snyder doing? When Batz isn't looking confused ("I thought she was with you"), hes looking terrified. Batman saying "Oh sh**" feels completely out of character.

And what type of scientist is Lex supposed to be anyway? I thought he was supposed to be a software guy, now hes splicing dna? I guess he is a typical comicbook scientist that is an expert in every discipline.

@DinoRanger - So what DC timeline are they working with because DC is introducing an older Batman, a rookie Superman, a dead original Lex, and what happened to everything DC related history of heroes & villains?

Confused? I don't know what to make of this!
