After electrifying the Hall H crowd yesterday, Warner Bros. has released a handful of hi-resolution stills from their next live-action DC adventure, Black Adam, will see Dwayne Johnson take on the role of Teth-Adam and unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Plot details remain relatively under wraps, but the synopsis teases that the story will pick up with Black Adam being awakened on present-day Earth. The synopsis reads, "Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world."

In addition to Johnson in the title role, the supporting cast will consist of Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall/Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Al Rothstein/Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, Marwan Kenzari as Ishmael Gregor/Sabbac, Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel/Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui as Amon, Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. James Cusati-Moyer, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu will also appear, but their roles remain undisclosed.

Black Adam storms into theaters on October 21.

The filter they use on this movie is so ugly.

@micvalpro - it's the 'every background is CGI or rocks' filter, and I don't like it either

The Justice Society looks so great, and then Black Adam has just a glorified onesie. Alteast the inscriptions (which I only notice now) give it some texture.

DC universe is really just being propped up by the Batman

Someone yesterday said the fake, brownish CGI background filter makes it look like a superhero film from The Boys universe and I can’t stop seeing it now

I think this’ll be an entertaining movie, but damn everything I’m seeing with Doctor Fate is gold (no pun intended). Always wanted to see him in a movie. Can’t believe it’s actually happening.

It doesn't even feel like a Black Adam movie. All I see is the Rock

To be honest, even though the Rock looks like he was born to play Black Adam, I think he should be in the MCU as the Absorbing Man

Stuff I wished for but didn’t happen:

1. The Rock as Namor. I REALLY wanted Dwayne Johnson to play Namor in the MCU. He could bring that imperious asshole attitude and he has the physique to look like he could go toe to toe with anyone.

2. Recasting of T’Challa. I REALLY wanted the T’Challa Black Panther story to continue but based on the impact of the teaser, I looks like its going to be an amazing sequel anyway.

To all the ROCK haters(a bunch of Goldberg/Triple HHH/TAKER/CENA/Lesnar/CM PUNK etc fans) this review pretty much explains my feels for this film

The only thing Dc will do with this movie, is ruin more characters.

I just can't get excited for this movie. I truly do not understand how DC has some of the most fantastic animated projects on the market yet make some of the worst live action projects. Young Justice is the proof of concept. I don't understand how they can't mimic that. I'm sorry but Dwayne Johnson is not good for any big existing franchise. He sucks the life out of the characters and injects himself into it. All this looks like is a crossover between Dwayne Johnson meeting the Justice Society of America.
