BLACK ADAM Star Dwayne Johnson Surprises Fans At Test-Screening; Confirms New Trailer Will Release This Week

With Black Adam's October release fast approaching, star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has confirmed that we'll see a new trailer for the DC Comics movie later this week.

Following recent release date delays for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom and Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Black Adam will be the only DC Comics movie hitting theaters this year, and it seems test screenings are still taking place ahead of its October debut.

A video of star Dwayne Johnson surprising fans by sitting in on one such screening has been shared online. The crowd seemed to like what they saw (clapping is a good sign when they didn't even know The Rock was present), and Johnson asked them a few specific questions about what they enjoyed most.

We don't get to hear any specific plot details, of course, but the Red Notice star did confirm that a new trailer for Black Adam will be online this week. We're not 100% sure when, but we're hearing September 8 during Thursday Night Football.

Check out the video below along with some new promo art featuring the Man in Black and the members of the Justice Society.

"From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action adventure Black Adam. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC Super Hero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods— and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world."

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge (City on a Hill, One Night in Miami) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life, Rush Hour 3) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express, The Mummy) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (Voyagers, Trinkets) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (A Million Little Things) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (the Mamma Mia! and James Bond franchises) as Dr. Fate.

Black Adam will be released nationwide on 21st October 2022 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
