BLACK ADAM Trailer Shows DC's New Anti-Hero Kicking The Justice Society's Ass; Viola Davis Joins Cast

Warner Bros.' Comic-Con panel just wrapped up, but Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has shared a new minute-long trailer for Black Adam that shows his electrifying anti-hero battling the Justice Society...

Well, if Comic-Con proved anything, it's that you can always rely on Warner Bros. to disappoint DC fans.

While we certainly can't complain about that action-packed Shazam! Fury of the Gods teaser or this fun Black Adam sneak peek, the studio made zero announcements, shared no surprises, and definitely didn't bring Henry Cavill out on stage to announce his return as Superman.

Dwayne Johnson was asked who would win in a fight between Black Adam and the Man of Steel, and acknowledged that "pound for pound they’re close." However, he'd then add "that depends on who is playing Superman." We're not sure how to take those comments, but one noteworthy casting addition was made to this movie in the form of Viola Davis' Amanda Waller.

We don't know what The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker villain will be getting up to just yet. However, something tells us she'll have a vested interest in Black Adam.

During a panel that saw Johnson enter Hall H in costume as Black Adam, he also revealed that, "My goal is to usher in a new era in the DC universe."

You can get a glimpse at what that might look like in the new Black Adam trailer below:

From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action-adventure Black Adam under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods - and imprisoned just as quickly - Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge (One Night in Miami) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I've Loved Before) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (A Million Little Things) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (James Bond) as Dr. Fate.

Black Adam will electrify audiences in theaters when it's released on October 21, later this year!
