Sterling K. Brown Seemingly Confirms That CREED's Phylicia Rashad May Have A Role In Marvel's BLACK PANTHER

Marvel's Black Panther is expected to kick off production on the 15th of January in Atlanta, which means we should be getting an official announcement regarding the film's cast any day now. But until then, we'll have to make do with what we can get.

Sterling K. Brown
(The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story), in an interview with The Undefeated, when asked about what it meant to him to be apart of this amazing cast Marvel has assembled, the Golden Globe-nominee and Primetime Emmy-winner revealed, seemingly inadvertantly, that Phylicia Rashad will also appear in the upcoming Ryan Coolger-directed film. However, once the little nugget of information was discovered by eagle-eyed fans, the ESPN-owned website quickly deleted her name from the interview, which could mean it was an accidental inclusion or it may just be Marvel covering their tracks. Regardless, it's probably best to label this piece of casting news as a rumor for the time being.

On another note, in a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight, Brown heaped praise on the film's script, describing it as "absolutely fantastic" and one that raises more than a few "really provocative questions." He then continued "It is politically astute. It is incredibly socially relevant,... It’s not just an action film; it addresses the climate today of Africans and African-Americans — across the country and across the world — in a way that people will really be excited about." Sounds like we could be in for a real treat. He didn't divulge much else, but did reaffirm that his character, N'Jobu, will have ties to T'Challa's past.

Rashad is probably best known for her role as Clair Huxtable on the long-running comedy series The Cosby Show and for reuniting with her on-screen husband on the late '90s series Cosby. Her more recent credits include a guest stint on FOX's Empire and a key role in another critically acclaimed Coogler-directed film, Creed, where she played the mother of Michael B. Jordan's title character.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Now they need to add Bill Cosby and Malcolm Jamal-Warner. Let's be honest, those were the only Huxtables anybody cared about.

"Black Panther adds Phylicia Rashad"

What an UNFAIR access of talent Coogler has to work with. This cast is actually ridiculous. The awesomeness is getting out of hand lol.

@ComicsBornAndBred - a bit overwhelming honestly ..... it's looking like coogler is getting his Nolan nitch with certain actors he loves to work with frequently

@knocturnalzen10 - I agree.

His camp is already MBJ and Rashad, who both seem to want to do any film he does. I think Jordan even said he'll do any film Coogler wants to do.

Its an embarrassment of riches at this point haha.
