BLACK WIDOW: New Poll Reveals Percentage Of Fans Who Want To Watch The Movie On Disney+ Or In Theaters

The summer 2021 blockbuster season will hopefully breathe fresh life back into the global box office, and a new poll has shed some light on the interest moviegoers have in watching titles like Black Widow.

The summer blockbuster season is about to kick off, but how many moviegoers are actually ready to return to packed theaters? That's a question a lot of people - particularly studios - are asking right now, and a newly shared survey from Whip Media (via The Direct) offers a rough idea.

Poll takers were presented with a list of upcoming titles and asked if they would prefer to see them on the big screen or from the comfort of home.

The likes of Jungle Cruise, In The Heights, and Free Guy were all movies that those who took part said they'd prefer to watch on their television or devices, but there was very good news for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A whopping 68% of participants are looking forward to checking Black Widow out in their local multiplex, while the same can be said for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Rings with 64%.

Black Widow also emerged as the most anticipated summer 2021 release with 81% of the votes.

Interestingly, with Warner Bros.' entire 2021 slate set to be made available on HBO Max, only 58% of people would be happier watching The Suicide Squad in a theater.

Needless to say, it's highly unlikely that any movie released this year will earn as much money as it would have done before the pandemic, and it could take a very long time for the box office to recover. Even with a vaccine available, there will be those who don't feel comfortable returning to a busy theater, and we still don't know what the winter months have in store with the virus.

Are you excited to get that big screen experience sometime this summer?

Of all the movies mentioned, it's probably The Suicide Squad I actually start to consider watching it on the big screen.

@DoubleD -
Except apparently you might need three now - and potential boosters every three months as the efficacy level was a lie and the immunity seems to last less time than they expected and does not protect against the variants as well as they thought.

@Scarilian - Might is the key word. I was told 12 months. I get my flu shot every year.
