Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has taken to Instagram today to confirm that shooting has now wrapped on Black Adam. The video makes for fun viewing as the actor holds a prize draw on set that sees $10,000 spilt between three members of the movie's crew; however, a closer look may reveal quite a bit more about the DC Comics adaptation.

For starters, it looks like Black Adam has made use of The Mandalorian's "StageCraft" technology, which is no great surprise when shooting on location has been complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Johnson, meanwhile, is suited up as Black Adam, but a cloak stops us from seeing what he looks like in costume! However, there are a couple of armoured actors nearby who could be members of Intergang, a group Sarah Shahi recently confirmed will be part of the movie and the main target of Adrianna Tomaz's team of freedom fighters (a cause likely to appeal to the titular anti-hero).

"Honored and proud to say that’s an official wrap on Black Adam," Johnson says below. "I knew many years ago, the opportunity for me to make Black Adam would be a once in a career event. It has been my true honor to go shoulder to shoulder with over 1,000 brilliant and hungry crew of filmmakers and storytellers to bring the antihero known as, Black Adam to life."

"This has been one for the ages and easily the hardest labor and toughest grind mentally and physically of my entire career," he concluded. "Worth. Every. Second."

Some sort of official first look at Black Adam has to be on the horizon now, though it's possible Warner Bros. will make us wait until DC FanDome this October. It's hard to say for sure, especially with no San Diego Comic-Con this month (at least not in the traditional sense), but we'll be sure to keep you guys updated.

The movie is set to be released on July 29, 2022 after being delayed as a result of the pandemic.
