BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER - Will Namor The Submariner Be The Sequel's Lead Villain?

The prevailing theory is that Namor the Sumbariner will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but is he going to be the movie's lead villain? Here's the latest rumour!

By JoshWilding - Apr 11, 2022 05:04 AM EST

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever remains one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most intriguing upcoming movies, especially as little to nothing has been revealed about what we can expect.

In the wake of Chadwick Boseman's death, the Black Panther mantle is being passed to another character, with Shuri and M'Baku among the possibilities. Dominique Thorne will also make her MCU debut as Ironheart, while it's been rumoured that we'll finally see Namor the Submariner on the big screen.

The belief is that Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta is playing the King of Atlantis, while we're also expecting to see Atlanteans Namora and Attuma. Time will tell whether that all pans out, but a new rumour from Murphy's Multiverse writer Charles Murphy suggests Namor is going to be the highly anticipated sequel's "primary antagonist."

T'Challa and Namor have one heck of a rivalry in the comic books, and Marvel Studios definitely started to lay the groundwork for Atlantis and its King to be introduced. Avengers: Endgame made reference to undersea earthquakes, while Eternals left a massive, marble Celestial in the ocean.

Hopefully, Marvel Studios will share some details and a first look at the movie soon. It's had quite the fraught production over the past year, and we're not expecting a trailer until the summer.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released in theaters on November 11!

Watch him not have his feet wings, nor fly, nor be a mutant and he'll be super polite

@dragon316 - ya except they've bastardized Hulk, Thor, and now with NWH, Doctor Strange.

@Crtdacct2say - Those wings wee always pretty silly...especially for an undersea character. Give him little fins like a flying fish instead. And I'm sure I don't know how that dude actually flies.

@Crtdacct2say - Watch none of those things happening.

@rychlec - the wings should have nothing to do with his atlantean physiology. They are the manifestation of his X-gene.

@Crtdacct2say - I think he'll have his "feet wings", but they'll be tattoos instead. Lol

@rychlec - Wings & fins are pretty close. Take a look at flying fish. I doubt that they'd be what makes him fly though, more like stabilizers, he could fly by manipulating his own electro-magnetic field, through electricity like how an eel emits electricity.

"He's the primary antagonist".... Until he's not.

Im glad to see Namor but man, can't we just get a good ol' nefarious villain. Ah well.. I'll still be watching.

@Fogs - If they debut the MCU'S Doom, then they need to seed in some of the other characters from F4. The movie already sounds overstuffed.

Speculation is just that, speculation. The actual movie when released will either satisfy everyone on this matter or piss people off to no end. Time will tell.

I think he should start out as the villain, but then team up with Wakanda to take down a bigger threat. Like Attuma

“BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER - Will Namor The Submariner Be The Sequel's Lead Villain?“

I’d say it’ll be like every marvel movie, point to one guy in the trailer and at the beginning of the film to look like the villain only to find out there’s a different villain and that guy we all thought was a villain will probably join the hero side in helping defeat the actual bad guy.
Just my guess.

Millennia ago, the impact of vibranium meteorites on the Earth's surface caused a Tsunami that completely covered the prosperous kingdom of Atlantis. As the kingdom of Atlantis disappears, Wakanda rises.

Now, a great earthquake (See Endgame) reveals a submarine vein of Vibranium in the Atlantic Ocean. Wakanda mines the metal from the depths of the ocean. Finally, Namor appears.

It will be a vaxxed Shuri versus an unvaxxed Shuri variant as primary antagonist, one want the money and the other fights against control by the Elite (Illuminati).

I guess Namor's WW2 history will be forgotten... would love an Invaders movie.

@Corruptor - They could spin it to where Atlantis was a classified Allies/SSR ally but after the bombs in Japan they turned their backs on the surface. Then due to the pollution, Vibranium/Celestial mining, etc since then, a new ruling class of Atlantis has decided it's the last straw.

Not perfect, and generic, but sounds like something they'd kind of do.
