With The Flash just a couple of days away from racing into theaters, we're a little surprised that a new trailer for Blue Beetle hasn't been released to play in front of it. There's still time, of course, and this newly surfaced TV spot should give you your fill of epic action until then.

Despite only being a 30-second preview, we see more of Jaime Reyes' transformation into a superhero and even a thrilling glimpse at what appears to be the movie's final battle.

In that, Blue Beetle will square off with Conrad Carapax, a baddie who appears to be...well, an evil version of the movie's hero. We're hoping there's more to him than that, but he's clearly going to don his own super suit in an effort to take Jaime down.

It's still unclear whether this movie is part of the DCU, but we'd bet on that decision only being made after Blue Beetle's opening weekend!

Check out this new look at Blue Beetle below.

In Blue Beetle, recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab.

When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the superhero known as Blue Beetle.

The movie stars Xolo Maridueña, Adriana Barraza, Damían Alcázar, Elpidia Carrillo, Bruna Marquezine, Raoul Max Trujillo, Belissa Escobedo, Harvey Guillén, with Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez. Angel Manuel Soto directs from a screenplay by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.

Blue Beetle arrives in theaters on August 18.

There's some CW-ish dialogue in there that is a little rough at the end.

I dont understand the need to expose this movie to a theatrical release, when it OBVIOUSLY was meant for TV.

Said it before, no one Knows the character and the fact that it looks so bad, plus it's a cookie cutter superhero. Nothing personal, i also like Xolo in Cobra Kai, but bluebeetle is dogshit, almost as bad a Love and blunder.

I really want to be excited for this but it looks so bad... A missed chance to create a good superhero movie with proper latino representation.
