Anthony Mackie is just as pumped for Captain America: Civil War as you are - particularly for the big screen debut of Black Panther. But not for the obvious fact that the film will star three, African -American actors playing superheroes; instead, Mackie is excited because of the talent Chadwick Boseman brings to the superhero smackdown.
"I've known Chad for a long time. I was very happy when I heard he got cast as Black Panther, because I knew he'd do the work to bring that character to life. It's not so much about two black actors being in a movie at the same time. It's more so about the right black actor getting that role to do the work to make it timeless, and Chadwick is that guy."
That's certainly a ringing endoresement from Mackie. CA: Civil War will be released in North American theaters on May 6, 2016.
