Hosted by John Cena and Victoria Justice, the 2016 Teen Choice Awards took place last night and saw Captain America: Civil War beat Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in every category the two movies were nominated in. Chris Evans topped Henry Cavill in the "Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy" category for example, but it was actually Star Wars: The Force Awakens villain Kylo Ren who managed to beat Lex Luthor when it came to "Choice Movie Villain" (though that probably isn't too surprising).
However, arguably the real winner here was Deadpool. The Merc with the Mouth's first solo outing saw him come out on top in the coveted "Choice Movie: Action/Adventure" category, another impressive win for 2016's most surprising hit. It wasn't all bad news for DC at the awards show though. Suicide Squad emerged the victor when it came to the upcoming movie teens are most excited about, while The Flash star Grant Gustin scored big on the TV side by winning "Choice TV Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy."
