Elizabeth Olsen Talks Potential 'Scarlet Witch' Movie, Her Role In CIVIL WAR, And INFINITY WAR

Revealing whether or not she would be up for a standalone movie about the Scarlet Witch, actress Elizabeth Olsen talks more about how Captain America: Civil War is "dark and fun" and what she knows about the two-part Avengers: Infinity War. Check it out after the jump!

When Collider spoke with Elizabeth Olsen during the Toronto International Film Festival, the actress had talked more about reprising her Avengers: Age of Ultron role as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and potentially a standalone movie.

“I was only there for five weeks of it, but we were all super stoked about it… Even though the Ultron robots are so intensely human because of its mind, we’re actually dealing with humans this time through and through," she said of Civil War. "There’s nothing scarier than something that’s like you being dangerous, so I think it’s darker and it’s fun. It’s really fun—it was so hard to shoot, but I think it’s gonna be a really interesting film." Given she and Aaron Taylor-Johnson made their Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the Captain America: The Winter Soldier, mid-credits scene,  the actress says she's curious as to what will be revealed in the inevitable Civil War post/mid-credits scene. "I’m excited to see how they’re gonna end it," she said. "I wanna see what the ending shots look like because I wanna know what the ellipses is at the end of the film."

When asked if she will return as the Scarlet Witch in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War, Elizabeth Olsen said, "Those are things I would like to know too (laughs)." She continued, "Those are things I have a group of people with me right now that would like to know too." We don't know where Civil War will leave Wanda Maximoff, but she's more than likely to help the Avengers take on the mad titan Thanos in Infinity War. Especially considering what she told Business Insider below.

"The good thing about Marvel is they have so many other things going on that they have to plan their year so specifically," said Olsen. "I already know my block of time for them for the next year, and I have a lot of time until then, so I’m in a position right now where I’m trying to find another film like I Saw The Light." About potentially starring in a Scarlet Witch movie, Elizabeth Olsen said, "I'm not sure, honestly. I love my character, I just don't know how that would fit in the whole Marvel universe or if it would even be necessary." The actress then laughed and admitted, "The pressure of a tentpole movie on my shoulders doesn't feel comfortable." What do you think?

Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.

Even though I know Marvel won't make a Scarlet Witch movie, it'll be interesting to see what other films they use her in. I'm leaning toward her having a big role in Dr. Strange, but anything could happen as of now. As long as Marvel uses her character right, i'll be satisfied.

And yes, she'll definitely be in Avengers: Infinity War.

She should be in Dr. Strange 2.

She should be in Doc Strange's future films. Have him teach her how to harness magic, find the connection between her powers and magic maybe. Let's see her before a sorceress and use hex. That'd be a cool way to kind of introduce her hex abilities by having strange show her how to elevate her powers to manipulate probability. This gets a runs the whole mutant power thing and how Whedon failed to make her powers exactly like her comic counterpart

Did someone seriously ask about a Scarlet Witch movie? Like, really? Lol

But anyway I can't wait to see what role she plays in Civil War, should be interesting for sure.

So it looks like she just said that she isn't sure about Infinity War, but is definitely filming Marvel stuff later next year. So which one will it be, Spider-Man or Thor 3?

I want to defund Planned Parenthood, ban all contraceptives, then tell Elizabeth Olsen that I had a vasectomy.

I'd have no issues placing my tentpole on her shoulders.

didn't a rumor go around that Wanda would meet Strange during Infinity War and would become to Doc Stranger, as Black Widow is to Cap? A non romantic female lead. I'd love to see that. She'd be kind of the wild crazy one and Stephen would be the stoic one. Kinda good cop bad cop.

I'm interested to see how her character develops.

I'm happy Agents of Shield starts soon, but honestly, I need my MCU fix in the cinema!

I think Scarlet Witch solo movie could work, but I understand her hesitancy. However a Scarlet Witch/Vision movie would be amazing and would work really really well. I wish we get one of those in Phase 4.

Scarlet Witch movie isn't necessary. And Olsen is awesome.

This is how it all gonna go down:
Wanda starts to go a little cuckoo.
Hulk is off-planet.
Cap dies in Civil War.
Orn of Agamotto is an Infinity Stone.
Scarlet Witch is trained to not go nuts by Dr. Strange.
Ragnarok destroys Asgard and 7 other realms and threatens to destroy Midgard as Thor assembles the final infinity stone for Thanos.
Thor dies fighting the Midgard serpent.
Iron-Man, Widow, Hawkeye all bite the dust.
Spidey, Captain Marvel, Falcon-Cap, Black Panther, War Machine, et. al. are left to take on Thanos.
Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch finally take down Thanos and Scarlet Witch taps into her reality altering powers, utilising the Infinity Gauntlet, to put the world back to normal, thus soft-booting the MCU and bringing back the dead realms and heroes.
Though there will be a new Thor in place of Hemsworth and a younger version of Tony Stark in place of Downey Jr.

How do I know all of this? I don't. But that doesn't mean I'm completely wrong.

I'd really like to see her in the Dr. Strange movie. She could be manipulated by Dormammu and be a villain for a lot of the movie. I know it happens something like that in the comics.

It looked like she could see Tony's vision at the beginning of AOU, which is why she let him take the scepter. But if she is fighting Thanos in the coming movies, wouldn't she have seen herself lying in the pile of dead bodies?

Doctor Strange is great and all, but I want Agatha Harkness to be her tutor. And I want Meryl Streep to play ol' Aunt Aggy.
