Footage From CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR To Be Shown In The Philippines This Weekend
Before we all get a chance to see the first official teaser trailer for Captain America: Civil War, it seems another lucky group of people will be able to see footage from the Marvel threequel, this time at a convention in the Philippines. Check out details after the jump!
There is still no word or indication of when exactly Marvel/Disney will publicly show off visuals from Captain America: Civil War with the first official teaser trailer, but it seems some footage will soon be screened exclusively for attendees of a convention in the Philippines. According to CNN, the AsiaPop Comic-Con Manila will be screening scenes from the highly-anticipated movie on Saturday, September 19, at 1:00 PM. Furthermore, the screening will be followed up with a panel featuring English actor Paul Bettany, who will be reprising his Avengers: Age of Ultron role as the Vision.
"We wanted to bring somebody from the cast of Avengers," said Rita Magnus, general manager of Universal Events and Entertainment who is organizing the the AsiaPop Comic-Con. "[We wanted] someone big in the Marvel’s Civil War movie… and The Vision is a really big character."
It is further noted that the Captain America: Civil War exclusive footage will actually be a trailer that is being shown "definitely for the first time in Asia-Pacific," which could imply this will not be the same footage from the D23 Expo last month. Perhaps, it could be the very teaser trailer that will eventually be released, maybe in the coming weeks? Only time will tell, but what do you think?
Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.
