Frank Grillo Teases His Transformation Into 'Crossbones' For CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Frank Grillo's ruthless HYDRA agent Brock Rumlow made quite an impression in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the character is set to return for the impending Civil War in the guise of costumed villain, Crossbones. Check out a couple of teasing Tweets from the actor after the jump...

Captain America: Civil War will see Steve Rogers and Tony Stark go head-to-head, and as if that wasn't enough for Cap to have to deal with, he'll also have Brock Rumlow out for revenge. At the end of The Winter Soldier, the character was pulled out of the rubble of the Triskelion alive but suffering from horrific burns all over his body. It's expected that Rumlow will be back fully attired as Crossbones to seek retribution, and actor Frank Grillo has posted the following Tweets teasing the character's return.



So we now know Grillo shot some scenes as Crossbones this past Saturday anyway... and does the second Tweet reveal some dialogue from the movie? We#ll find out when Captain America: Civil War hits next year. The film is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and confirmed cast members include: Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier, Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow / Crossbones, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Falcon, and Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa / Black Panther.

But it's just as likely, if not more likely, that Marvel strongarms the directors to do something they don't want; i.e. shift the tone, and we could just as likely end up with another AoU fiasco.

I really hope they don't kill Cap. Evans continues to knock it out of the park each time and I hate how people believe superheroes need to die in order to establish risks. Imagine the outrage if they killed Batman before Justice League 3?

Once again people fail to realize that A lot of The Humor in Age Of Ultron came from JOSS WHEDON. Stfu and get over it. Movie overall still has a darker tone compared to the first. The Winter Soldier was a "bit" more serious (as the Captain America Films seemed to always do) so what makes you think that they're are gonna break that streak with something like Civil War? Idiots lmao.

i really like the idea of Crossbones being the one responsable for forcing US goverment to go with Heroes Registration Act. What i think: the movie could start with some
non-experienced wannabe hero pursuing Crossbones. The pursuit ends with a tragedy. Boom. Can i get an Oscar now ?

I wonder if they're gonna have Zemo be the head of a new Hydra cell. Or just be the leader of some other organization. But since Crossbones will most likely be Zemo's henchman it will be Hydra.

I really don't get why they cast such a little guy as Crossbones. Or why so many people thinking casting a Mel Gibson sized guy for a guy who is as big as Dwayne Johnson in the comics was a good idea.
