I know we've had a cinematic universe for some time now, but to me this is REALLY the movie where the universe will be tied together. Here are the examples: 1) Ross being relevant after an 8 year dry spell and at the perfect time, too. 2) The first interaction of Ant Man with the Avengers, being VERY significant because this is the first new solo character to join up with the Avengers, and also on account of the fact that he's one of the original Avengers, and has one of the weirdest powers compared to the rest. 3) The russo's being in charge of this movie, but ALSO being in charge of the main title in the future, being the Avengers, so stylistically speaking it will feel much more consistent. 4) Having ALL the destruction we've seen in the past 12 films be addressed in a humongous way. 5) Black Panther, who has most likely had the title in this universe long before Tony even becoming Iron Man, finally stepping out of the shadows and also interacting with Marvel's biggest cast yet. 6) Everything that happened in phase 2 is more relevant than ever, tony's ptsd, destruction of London, the takeover of hydra and one of the huge stepping stones for not trusting superheros, bucky regaining his memory while also being revealed to be a huge pawn of hydra for all these years which will obviously be very important for Civil War, and also Avengers 2 setting up all the characters to be a consistent Avengers team as well as introducing the straw that broke the donkey's back in the case of Ultron. 7) Having the majority of the MCU'S heros presented thus far to experience arguably the biggest, most emotionally complex moments in the universe's history, thereby causing a ripple effect to everyone involved. 8) Introducing Spider man, the first child superhero, who would be considered a myth by many in the film, coming out of the shadows. This mainly being important due to the popularity of the character.

I always have thought that for a war there need to be several combatants...

Maybe and just maybe we will see the iron legion again fighting versus mmmm do not know what army could help Caps' team but if that is not the case, it would not be considered a war to me
