Sorry BATMAN v SUPERMAN; CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Trailer Shatters Records
Well, this timing can't be coincidental. With a new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice preview on the way, Marvel are boasting about the Captain America: Civil War trailer breaking records. Has it really though? Star Wars fans may have something to say about this one...
Marvel has today announced that the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War debuted online to a "record-shattering" 61 million global views in its first 24 hours. The trailer almost doubled the previous record held by the first trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron (which debuted to a then record-breaking 34 million views in 2014). The studio has also confirmed that audiences will soon be able to see the new Captain America: Civil War trailer on the big screen in front of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. What isn't clear here is the record Marvel is referring to. After all, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer received 112 million views in 24 hours, so it could be that they're only talking about the superhero genre. Either way, this is an impressive feat, albeit one we may see topped if a new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer tonight. What do you think?
