The CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Trailer Has Topped Nearly 100 Million Views In Less Than 24 Hours
The first trailer scored over 60 million views in 24 hours without Spider-Man. The second? Well, it's nearly past the 100 million mark, and it's all thanks to everybody's friendly neighborhood wall-crawler!
Back in 2014, the first trailer for Marvel's Avengers Of Ultron tallied a then record-breaking 34.3 million views worldwide within 24 hours and it managed those numbers despite being leaked online days before its scheduled launch. The first teaser trailer for Captain America: Civil War, which dropped last November, broke Age Of Ultron's record with over 61 million views worldwide.
And both of those trailers didn't have Spider-Man.
The numbers for the brand new Captain America: Civil War trailer are officially in and they're almost as jaw-dropping as the trailer itself. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the new theatrical trailer, which introduced Marvel's most popular hero to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has scored over 94.7 million views worldwide within 24 hours, shattering all of their previous records.
At the time of this posting, the new trailer on Marvel's official YouTube account had over 27.2 million views, the copy on Marvel UK's YouTube account has scored over 1.9 million views, and there are also 25 other official foreign language versions of the trailer currently available that add to the giant sum. On Facebook, the trailer has been viewed on the official Captain America page over 17 million times. As for Twitter, official view counts are unavailable, but the trailer has been retweeted over 53,000 times on the Captain America account and over 16,000 times on the official Marvel account.
For comparison's sake, the second trailer for Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, which debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in December, managed approximately 23.2 million views on YouTube in its first 24 hours online, which was a noticeable step back from the 30 million views on YouTube for the first teaser trailer and 30.1 million views on YouTube for the Comic-Con trailer.

After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team.
