Felicity Jones Denies Vying For Role In CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
The latest update regarding the female lead role in the anticipated Marvel sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, comes via one of the reported contenders: Felicity Jones. Make the jump for more!
Having yet to get official word about the inevitable love interest of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we’ve been left to speculate; learning, instead, which actresses from the reported shortlists are no longer in the running. In the case of Felicity Jones, whose name made the first list alongside Anna Kendrick and Imogen Poots, it’s a matter of whether the actresses were ever in contention.
Felicity Jones was speaking with HeyUGuys recently about her new drama film, when she was questioned whether there was any legitimacy to the Captain America reports. Without hesitation, the English actress admitted, “No, I’m not part of that. I haven’t auditioned for that one and I never even saw the script.” Despite Jones’ comments, Anna Kendrick provided some substance to the shortlist last September, telling reporters, “All I know is that I can not really say anything.”
The other actresses that’re still vying for the mystery role, widely believed to be Sharon Carter, reportedly include Emelia Clarke, Jessica Brown Findlay, Teresa Palmer, Alison Brie and Imogen Poots. All should be revealed sooner or later, especially considering the April Fool’s day start date that ‘The Falcon’ actor Anthony Mackie recently confirmed. Scheduled to film in Cleveland, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., Ohio reps reassured that Captain America: The Winter Soldier will feature the usual “action scenes, chase scenes, stunt scenes,” similar to The Avengers. “It may not be in downtown proper, but similar to those action scenes.” What do you think?
Marvel Studios’ “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where the highly anticipated film “Marvel’s The Avengers” leaves off, as Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D, and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world. Starring Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo, Cobie Smulders with Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson, and directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and is scheduled for release on April 4, 2014.
