What Captain America could have been & the MCU.

Although i LOVE the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) i wish Captain America would have been done differently.

Now before i get into things, this is just an opinion, and honestly it's already made so who cares. My opinion is as small as an ant! so read if you want.

Well i when i went to see Captain America : The First Avenger i loved it, but then a thinking about it i didn't like it too much! :( I didn't feel drawn into Chris Evan's Steve Rogers, Maybe if they showed him as a kid or something like that, show more of his life and what he's gone through. Its not necessarily his fault either there wasn't much going on before he became Cap.

And on top of that i didn't feel like it was in the 1940's, (0r 50's) i felt like it was on Disney ANNIE set the whole time (not that bad) but and then HYDRA i felt was a bit overboard and all the futuristic weapons i mean they could keep that but some of it was just taken too far .. And excuse me for asking but did Hitler even exist ;) ? Now i know he did but yeah. and the HYDRA Soldiers outfits were pretty lame.

There are stuff i really like in it, and scenes that i thought was cool, like the pick for Bucky i really liked.

Now if i had to pick a Director instead of the one who did Cap America i would pick LOUIS LETERRIER, also known as the Director of the Incredible Hulk but i loved his version of Hulk and I'd want that military feel that he brought! i think it would really work. it should have fallowed in IRON MAN 1 And THE INCREDIBLE HULK, but the film didn't..

Also as much hate i might get for this, remember its just my opinion and it might suck but, No Chris Evans and bring in Sam Worthington! He wanted to play Captain America he said it in a interview for AVATAR, and he's a great Action actor.. so why did they pick Chris Evans who had already been in a MARVEL film, and the part you might hate me for is, he's honestly not that good of an actor! He's come out in good comedies but to play Captain America i feel is to serious of a role :P

So that's what i think why ignore SAM WORTHINGTON when he was seriously asking for it? He's a great actor and has been a really good solid actor! i feel like him and Tony Stark arguing would be better and more people would take Captain America seriously.

One last, and way smaller thing..

i loved the direction the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe)was being taken after Iron Man 1 ending credits when they introduce Nick Fury.. and then at the end of THE INCREDIBLE HULK when Tony Stark comes into the bar to talk about the "team" and i loved it!

But as MCU time went on, they completely ignored what they started and kind of took it in a different direction, i loved THOR, but i felt like Captain America : The First Avenger was sort the worst one out of all the MCU films so far.

In my opinion, TFA is the second best solo film in the MCU.

I liked CATFA but it could have been better. If I were the director, it would look more like Saving Private Ryan and he would have been fighting Germans, Nazis and Hydra. And he would have punched Hitler. I would have liked to see him in action with the Howling Commadoes as well. We should have had earned the right to be called a Captain and be battle wearied before being frozen in ice. In my opinion, First Avenger ran out of time to do the story. They wasted time with the USO shows when those scenes could have been of Steve Rodgers storming a beach.

respect your opinion but alot of it is a big no for me

hitler was mentioned in the movie,"...send adolf hiltler to the gates of hell" it was said by tommy lee jones character

Hydra suits are lame cuz its the 40s, alot of stuff back then would look lame to us now

And a big no to Sam,
1. He sucks at acting
2. He lacks that classic American look
3. Hes not even American

The First Avenger is the best solo movie thus far. Dee spite a weak final battle and an under developed villain, it did a fantastic job on the casting, you got to know Steve Rogers, he had a developed romance with Peggy (best romance in the history of CBM's), the end scene with him and Peggy was emotional, it felt like the 40's and you truly rooted for Steve Rogers. Not as a superhero but everything he is as a man. I love the film we got and I can't wait for, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Also, Chris Evans proved with Captain America that he can do more serious and dramatic roles.

Praetorian: Please do explain how The First Avenger sucked

^Nazis with laser guns and flame thrower suits? Not too mention an almost cartoonish villain and the entire second half of the movie having a scatterbrained plot, just didnt do it for me

those Anzis had access to the cube what do you expect? And honestly even in comic books red skull is very cartoonish.

I agree the second half could have been done better but its easily the best origin film of the series thats truthful to the character. The films goal was to show how even in weakness this man standed strong and in turn he was granted strength, and even though he was granted this srength he remained the same man
