We're sure the majority of you have seen The Marvels by now, but if not, major spoilers follow from this point on.

Right at the end of the Captain Marvel sequel, after helping Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau defeat Dar-Benn, Kamala Khan tracks down Hawkeye's Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) and tells her she's putting a team together.

Though we don't know if they'll actually take the name, we it's assumed that this new superhero group (whenever it may happens to assemble) will be the Young Avengers.

Kamala mentions Cassie Lang, aka Stature, but who else will be on the team? It's probably going to be a while before we find out for sure, but Iman Vellani was asked about her "Nick Fury moment" during a new interview with Nerdist, and she revealed which characters she'd most like to recruit.

"People really love these Young Avengers, but I don’t even know if they actually read those comics—not that they’re bad. The chemistry between Kamala, Miles [Morales], and Sam [Alexander], it’s too good. I would love to see that trio in the MCU. Neither of those characters exist yet in live action, but I’m praying for it. Yeah. I love Sam Alexander. One of their first interactions that they had. Also when Sam tried to reveal his identity and Kamala was like, 'Get away from me.' I love it."

We're sure we will see Miles and Sam/Nova in the MCU at some point, but they probably won't be part of this first iteration of the Young Avengers.

Vellani was also asked about The Marvels' mid-credits scene, which introduces a fully CG take on Beast (Kelsey Grammar). Kamala is sure to make Hank McCoy's acquaintance down the line, but are there any other X-Men she hopes to meet?

"Wolverine. Wolverine any day. Personally, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is one of my favorite characters ever, but also her first mentor in the comics was Wolverine. I wanted to bring Wolverine back into this one. Hopefully, we can do that in the future. I think their interactions are so sweet and she brings out a different side of Logan and I love it when she just has all these superhero parents. It’s wonderful. He’s very protective over her and I think he’s also very real with her. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything and I think Kamala needs just a reality check sometimes. "

"In Marvel Studios’ The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels.”

The film also stars Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon. Nia DaCosta directs, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos and Matthew Jenkins serve as executive producers. The screenplay is by Megan McDonnell, Nia DaCosta, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells.

@bobevanz - If it’s referenced in Brave New World as was rumored, that will be 3.5 years after Eternals before it was.

This flopped harder than the Flash and it is ironic that it had more articles about its failure.

Biased much? 😂

Anyway happy thanksgiving

@vectorsigma - it didn't flop harder than the flash, but it is a huge flop. Flash didn't even pay itself.

@braunermegda - ...no, it definitely flopped harder. It cost more and is making less.

And neither movie managed to "pay itself".

Discount Kamala. Doesn't even have her embiggening abilities because Feige is more concerned about Reed.

@McMurdo - Reed is way more important anyway. They're pushing ms marvel in comics and games for years as if the character had that much of a fanbase.

If she's the 1st mutant the audience is presented to in the MCU, she's a discount Jubilee, if anything.

They did this in the comics,Ms.Marvel a character that isn't that popular, who had her own title cancelled on multiple occasions.
So Marvel teamed her up with popular characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine and Venom.
They want you to like the character but it is extremely difficult.

Having one of the lowest viewed shows on Disney Plus and The Marvels being a box office failure, don't expect to see her anytime soon, maybe Avengers:Secret Wars.

@marvel72 - Folk have kept claiming that and so checked, no, none of her solo comics were cancelled, the first led directly into the last civil war crossover event and second ran for nearly 40 issues again leading directly into a crossover event. There is a trend in comics of over use of going back to a #1 these days rather than the longer continous runs they used to used to but that goes for all characters not just this one. The bigger thing is that from the get go they primarily pushed her comics on the digital side where her and Miles led the pack on downloads at Marvel, not individual print comics, and secondarily on the book market/graphic novels where her first series volumes/compilations were in the top 50 three years running.

@Apophis71 -

A character that has been around Ten years or so.

First Series Ms.Marvel
Second Series Magnificent Ms.Marvel
Three Limited Series
Champions Team Book
Secret Warriors Team Book

Killed Off in Amazing Spider-Man #26

Don't know if she is back.

I remember comic books had runs in the hundreds were considered successful.
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 11/24/2023, 6:26 AM
@marvel72 - I agree, that used to be the norm for sure but these days it is all limited series' and/or start a new #1 after every crossover events or if they get a new artist onboard for them with all characters. That and having mutliple aternate universe versions of some at the same time if it is someone like Peter Parker but there is a difference between a questionable trend of constant #1's and events than actual cancellation of runs.
Apophis71
Apophis71 - 11/24/2023, 6:31 AM
@marvel72 - Oh, and she is back, she didn't stay dead for even a month I think and got whisked off immediately by the Xmen to be revived and then join them in a comic Iman herself was cowriting from what was reported, not that I read those myself.

Almost nobody wants the Young Avengers, people want the original Avengers:

Tony Stark - dead.
Natasha Romanov - dead.
Steve Rogers - aged 90+.
Clint Barton - retired.
Thor - Silly dad.
Hulk - (un)funny intellectual.

Meanwhile The Marvels fell out of the top 5 in it's 3rd weekend, to #7 behind Saltburn.
Next weekend it will probably fall out of the top 10.
