Since when did carnage have this change in character, and he's a supporter of the confederacy?!

Soooooo in which comic did Wade Wilson change his name to "Kleetus" and adopt the Carnage symbiote with a love for the south?

Dear Marvel,

To paraphrase the critic Jay Sherman--your AXIS is like your cooking: IT STINKS! Get some newer ideas, why don't you?

What Carnage is supposed to look like.

Carnage's teeth have been white for years. I guess it also depends on who draws him.

Can someone please tell me how Charles Xavier is one of the most powerful mutants but he's always deceased. It's like they don't know what to do with him. I feel the same way about Thor too.

The relics of the 90's are plentiful. It was when comics were dying and they did anything they could to pull in readers, even if it meant creating a whole new world's worth of characters. Many of those changes or characters that happened back then hav to be erased because they just never fit to begin with. Others had to be adopted and smoothed over because hindsight is always 20/20. There are some good ideas from the time that just needed to be mended.

Carnage is one of those. The problem is that Marvel is still trying to figure that out. They tried to kill him off, but fans were too vocal about their fandom and Marvel brought him back. I think, like Venom, they even tried to pass the suit along to see if they could make it work with another character and that didn't work either.

So now they're trying the anti-hero spot. The only problem is that Carnage never had enough character to be anything more than a villain. So now they're trying to turn him into Matthew Mcconaughey from Killer Joe. But it's just not the character. Cletus Kassidy was not a southern "Texas Chainsaw" type. He actually had a very 90's voice. Anyone who saw the 90's cartoon remembers all of the "Heeey, Daaaaaaaaaad!!" stuff when he'd see Venom.

So in my head, I'm wondering why even bother changing Carnage, if you're making a whole new character? Just make that character. But that's the point. They want name recognition if people like this person he's become. It's like trying to match a face and name with a persona.

But that is the problem, inherently, with these 90's relics...Trying so hard to make people like them, you're making new characters anyway. You're just using the "brand" to sell it.

aww, I don't want Nice-Carnage to get killed.
I'm sure he'll be back to normal once they reverse the spell, but I think he should stay a while longer.
I'm surprised that during this entire Axis event, Xavier didn't wake up in Red Skull's body. Isn't that what the inversion spell was meant to do?

Carnage isn't going to die. The nature of his powers since completely bonding with the symbiote makes him virtually unkillable.

Why is it confusing? It starts in Prelude to Axis, and then Axis #1. And all of it is a sequel to Uncanny Avengers.
