I wish quicksilver could match the flash in terms of speed then he would be on another level

So Marvel's [frick]ing up comics cannon in order to suit their movies and mess with Fox's X-Men.

Oh yeah, they do it "for the fans".

Some superficial changes caused by movies can be cool like Star-Lord´s new costume or the Batman 89 costume being used but messing with 50 years old continuity just for the sake of one movie SUCKS. I cant wait for their extremely contrived and forced explanation to be revealed!

So if its true and the twins are no longer mutants, does fox lose the rights to them in the future? Obviously no or marvel would retcon everything. Slippery slope either way. Lawyers are ruthless.

This costume isn't the best, but as far as adapting it to a film--I can dig it.

Catering the story to the films/cinematic universe however is hogwash.

Disney have the best lawyers in Hollywood, if there is a loop hole to find in these contracts Disney will find them.

No they're both still mutants, but just not Magnetos children.

Proof of this: Quicksilver lost his powers during M-Day, he wouldn't have if he wasn't a mutant.

wait wasent it originally a retcon when scarlet witch and quicksilver where made magnetos kids? then what is the point in complaining retcons happen, this isnt the first and it wont be the last.

@BlackCondor- Star Lord's costume from the 2008 run is better than his movie costume.

Nothing in this preview says they aren't Mutants, except that [frick]ing variant.

If they do; I'm illegally downloading everything Marvel does from now on.

repulse93- your going to illegally download everything marvel because they made retconed SW and QS? that is a poor excuse

There's character evolution, and then there's following a trend. I'm not an expert on the twins or a hardcore fan, but even I find this to be a bit odd.

I like the Vision costume. They should've went with this design for the movie. Even the new Antman costume from Ant-man #1 !

And to anybody saying Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Vision are only being used because of the movie just know thats not true because those 3 have been members of the Avengers way before some of your favorite Avengers including Black Widow, War-Machine, Falcon, etc.

The no more mutants thing sucks tho ! I hate the rub off effect the MCU has on the comics.

FearTheLiving - 1/22/2015, 4:26 PM
They still have yet to call them Inhumans I love how people keep jumping to that conclusion. If you're complaining about Magneto not being the father, hell that was a retcon.

Unless I'm missing something. (In which case please post a link that points directly to the two characters not being mutants) I don't want theories or unclear wording I want something that flatout says they aren't mutants....It's okay I'll wait.

Completely agree. But his new costume is way better than his early Marvel NOW! costume/ armor.

Orehrepus

Yeah, movies are their main source of munnnnnyyy now. And it's gazillion, so... who the frick cares about what happens in the comic now? And I heard something about a total reboot of the comic universe soon? I'm sure they're thinking REAL hard about future movies on that reboot.
Orehrepus
Orehrepus - 1/22/2015, 5:24 PM
Hey, maybe they will reboot the whole Spider-Man, Fantastic Four and X-Men comic universe so they can make their movies without having to buy back the rights from Sony and Fox?

Hmmm...
Yeah, that could work.
They could call him Spider-Guy and give him the whole look and characterization of Spider-Man 2099 with little alterations.

The Fantastic Five, maybe?

And The X-People?
Orehrepus
Orehrepus - 1/22/2015, 5:31 PM
@TheRealRemyLebeau

The people who say that this is pandering to the movies please explain how. That claim has been slung around here on little to no basis. We know absolutely nothing about the twins in film.
===================================================================

Not ABSOLUTELY nothing, bro.

We knew they were mutants in the X-Men universe, which is supposed to be within the rights purchased by Fox and Marvel couldn't use them in movies. So, they could say "Hey, these aren't THOSE Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. These kids aren't mutants." You know how lawyers are genius with loopholes.

So, to back it up, they changed the comic.
Hence, pandering to the movies.
DellRusk
DellRusk - 1/22/2015, 5:32 PM
@Orehrepus

They haven't said they aren't mutants in the comic though.
Orehrepus
Orehrepus - 1/22/2015, 5:35 PM
I know, we don't know that they're not mutants in the movie.
But, how else could it be?
They couldn't be mutants because that would be a violation to the rights.
I'm sure Fox's lawyers are ruthless too.
LOL!
Orehrepus

Yeah, I know, it's just a speculation as well.
But as I said before, how else could it be?

We won't know until we read this run. So I'm reserving judgement like everyone else should which is just wishful thinking.
