eading up to the battle you thought you’d never see?" Let me guess this "battle we never though we would see is going to be cap vs iron man isn't it? Cause you know they are going to be doing it in the movies soon, so they want to promote that asap.

Well, regardless at how well written this is, at it's base it's just Civil War again.

Basically the writers said, "How can we do Civil War again? That was cool and everyone loved it."

Ta da. And thus the rest is history folks. I love the Marvel and DC universe, but besides a handful of good stories, these days everything is a gimmick.

Start writing good stories and you'll get more people to read comics. Make it unfold into a true new chapter of story telling instead of rehash of the rehash of some old hash.

I wish he had a black facemask like it looks like in the second pic (the first pic of numerous panels). Too bad its just a shadow. Overall I like the Superior Iron man suit tho, I just dont like how hes still inverted. I would rather they start making some new characters, villains mainly. Marvel doesnt do that all too often anymore, that was one awesome thing about the 90's runs, they introduced a lot of characters that are now main stay characters. I just cant understand making a good guy bad because you cant find a good enough villain.

Nova- no he's still a bad guy thanks to that axis spell they did and sabertooth is now a good guy.

TheEpicJuicebox- in Axis scarlet witch and i think doctor strange cast a inversion spell to try and get xavier to come to the surface in the red onslaught. it defeated the red skull but it also inverted the avengers and some villians turning the good guys into bad guys and bad guys into good guys. when they tried to reverse it iron man did something that protected him and a few others from the inversion meaning he's still a douche.

Tony Stark is such a punk b!tch.
He's the one who should've died, not Wolverine.
Hope he gets slaughtered by Cap.

Superior? Who is he possessed with the spirit of Crimson Dynamo? Eeeh, making him a bad guy is too easy. He needs to overcome his sorted past and be better. Making him the 'scape goat' it's lazy, because he represents a technological superiority he gets the 'villain' spot more then he should. Why are the heroes morally in the gray zone lately? Seems Villains are getting more heroic and heroes are getting more corrupt.

banenascent- read my comment that's why he's a bad guy at the moment, and that is actually exactly what happened in axis some bad guys became good guys and some good guys became bad guys.

That armor is a symbiote which doesn't help at all. He found some kind of way to manipulate it so it's spart of the armor

This inverted thing seems like a cheat. Instead of having stories push characters into moral gray areas that challenge them emotionally and transform them, we've got a spell that magically makes a character into a different person. It's fine for a short story arc of a few issues, but if you intend to stick with it for a while (like this Superior Iron Man and the possible Sabretooth as Wolverine) do some good writing that makes the transformation itself sensible and worthwhile.

Marvel has lost me with all their "New 52" type changes ...some just to accomodate the damn MCU...they should be separate...

1- ironman has had liquidy armour before guys so quit complaining.

2- I don't get all this whinging about the comics incorperating MCU stuff- the only evidence i have seen is the very brief inclusion of Chitauri in Nova and the Agents of shield characters being introduced. My only problem with this is that now Skye has been revealed to be a Marvel character already we aren't going to get a hot comic character out of her :-(. I don't see the problem with adding come depth to an otherwise faceless organisation.

In addition female Thor, flacon cap, evil ironman, original sin Fury, armoured hulk, Dead Sharon Carter all move the characters further away from their movie counterparts not closer.

The only character change I haven't liked too much is Black Widow who Marvel have made a bit too goody good.

I don't know what Marvel are planning with Quicksilver and SW, considering that after the house of M it was firmly established that Quicksilver was DEFINITELY NOT Inhuman so that may annoy me but I'm not throwing the baby out just yet.

@Kinghulk

Ah, yeah I see that now. I'll have to pick up the trade. That's what I usually do for the events. I'll be honest I've seen this trend with Spider-man and Cyclops though, where they are technically heroes but not in their right mind and have this hard edge to them. Scarlett Witch in Avengers dissasembled/House of M. Sentry in Siege. Nick Fury in Original Sin. Where the heroes are all in grey places morally. This just seems like a extension of the trend.

I don't understand Marvel's thinking here. Yes, Civil War sold like crazy, but not because Tony was the antagonist. (Which he absolutely was.) Civil War turned Iron Man from a meh character into a hated character, and it was only the sheer charisma of Robert Downey Jr that rescued the character. (And Warren Ellis' Extremis arc deserves a little credit. That was great, then the book went back to Dullsville.) It's a goddamn miracle how the Iron Man movie reinvigorated the character after Civil War ruined him. So let's flush all that good will down the toilet?

Still... That cover's pretty cool.

You know Marvel is on a downslide when Iron Man is made a villain. Didn't we already read this before? Isn't this like the 4th or 5th time in the last 20 years Marvel made him "bad"?
