I hear Cap will fall through a dimensional portal into the DC Universe and fall into Ra's Al Ghul's lazarus pit and become young. Then he will fall back through the portal to the Marvel Verse and be Cap again! YEA!

Sam putting Hulk/Banner in his place and punching out Fury Jr. was crazy.

Also I like Hulk becoming another Hulk (Hulk hulking out), but dont care for the name "Kluh". I think a Hulk's hulk would have a better name than that.

They really need to just keep Bucky as Cap. He deserves it the most. I wouldn't have such a problem with Falcon as Cap if he didn't have those damn wings. He's not Captain America! He's the Falcon with a shied! If Iron Man wore the Iron Patriot armor and started using the shield, he wouldn't be Captain America, he'd be Iron Man with a shield.

Amen. Not loving that mask. They should've used the Gatchaman version mask he has in season 2 of Avengers Assemble.

You are so right. After issue 17 they'll cancel it.
THEN, remarkably, unfortold by anyone, a new number one will appear, Captain America's Uncanny Avengers!

Why don't they just make them all mini-series and be done with it.

Great art!

I don't expect it to last, as Marvel will switch to using fifth graders with crayons after the first few issues. The whole concept of Captain Falcon doesn't fly with me. I'm tired of female Thors, muslim Green Lanterns, lesbian/gay reveals. Next it will be Captain America monkey or Captain America dog, because the present talent pool in very shallow indeed.

Bring back the real deal and find some writers that can actually construct story lines that are creative. It can be done.

The Marvel movies are kicking butt, however the Marvel comics suck...

Sam Wilson...glad he getting some shine. I mean if young adults and children (Nightwing and Robin) can whup all kinda tail from being trained by Batman, Sam should be able to kick all kinds'a tail being trained by Cap for 45 years. I do agree those goggles are pretty corny; should jus rock visors, or change the shape or something.

I really like the opening montage. It shows how marginalized people can find inspiration or just enjoyment by inclusion efforts, even imperfect, clumsy efforts like this temporary Captain America.

I hope this series likewise takes on the infantile pejoratives being hurled. It takes an inflated sense of entitlement plus a lack of wit to call Sam Wilson as Cap "Blacktain America".

@76cidgrad, @Retrofit and too many others to name: relax folks, that uppity negro Sam Wilson's tenure is temporary ...and y'know...fictional. So if you are burdened by "female Thors, muslim Green Lanterns, lesbian/gay reveals in comics" (oh, the horror!), do you care to imagine how females, muslims, lesbian and gay comic book fans have felt?

Nobody is raping your childhood. These are just comic books aiming to inspire and engage today's (actual) children with images & stories that happen to challenge your traditional worldview. IMO, you dealing with a bit of diversity in a comic (temporarily!) is a small price to pay to get another generation into comics.

The fanboys can spew hate all they want. This is a gimmick no doubt. But one that works like female Thor and superior Spider-Man while he lasted

Love the jab at the haters and purists! "Political Corectness gone mad!" LMAO!! Love the team though, glad they're still keeping these guys together. Good to see Blue Marvel still int eh MU, and love the Captian marvel inspired suit for Monica Rambeau under her new Spectrum name. I will have to go back and pick up some of the last run.

@ Blackspider2408 - I agree wholeheartedly. nothing wrong with a gimmick if handles right. Superior Spider-Man proved that. And Thor is looking pretty good as well as Cap. Bring it on!

Yeah we are tired of all these books with black people and women in it. Just all gimmicks so black people and women will buy their books. We don't even like these people, why would we want them to have a book that represeants them. :P

There's something about FalCap's look that's just not working for me.
Also, I thought Cap's skill with the shield was an acquired one.

So just anybody can do bank shots now?

The lineup and timing reeks of Disney's influence. No longer will the Avengers have the traditional line up in the movie so of course they have to shake it up in the comics too. lame.

I want there to be more diversity in comics. There need to be more races creeds and religions and persuasions represented. My only issue comes with the fact that the creators at Marvel are being lazy about it. Don't retcon or replace or shoehorn the already established characters into a more diverse lot. Those characters are already established. Why not be creative and come up with new characters that represent all the facits of society they want to include.

I think we can all agree that Marvel needs some new blood both creatively and in the characters department. Give the kids characters they can relate to. And have the old guard be their mentors. Let them learn from and teach eachother. I promise it will make better stories and better comics.

Gimmicks are just that: gimmicks. There is nothing more cynical in all the world, than a gimmick. I don't want gimmicks. I want something new. Don't get me wrong I don't want a hard reboot of continuity that is the easy way out. I want new characters to be logically and feasibly phased into the universe. Why not have a storyline in which something happens that causes a sudden jump in the metahuman population something that literally floods the universe with new heroes and villains.

I'd love to see the Avengers be made the training ground for a new wave of heroes overseen by the older characters. Think of the possibilities of new blood in what has arguably become a rather stodgy universe. How many times can you kill, or depower, or interchange a character before it becomes a cliché? Hell it already is. We all know characters will be brought back in line with Marvel Cinematic Universe releases. To bring in a black Cap and them have him simply be brushed aside when Steve comes back, which we all know is sure to happen before Age of Ultron is disingenuous and cynical.

Leave Cap and Spidey, Thor and the rest alone. They are who they are; to change them only raises the ire of fans because to them these characters are not interchangeable. Let us have some new characters to love along with the old and instead of making storyline after story line that changes the status quo for the old characters how about you do the hard thing Marvel: focus on keeping us interested by giving us good storylines that allow the established characters to evolve and develop naturally and not throw gimmicks at us every couple of years.

You work in a medium unlike any other. It gives you time to tell a story not over a two hour film or one hour TV show, but years and even generations of continuity. Take your time. Give us something we can watch develop over time not jammed down our throats in a rush when you run out of ideas.

The next time a writer or editor has to pitch a gimmick because he is out of fresh angles that editor or writer needs to be fired or reassigned to a new book. I want storytellers damn it not salesmen.

Where were all these comics pundits when Bucky became Cap with his glossy spangly costume? I didn't hear any jumping up and down about that "gimmick". This story of Sam wielding the shield is classic and timely at the same time. I'm happy the writers went this route. Sam has earned the shield and the title. His handling of Nick Fury when he wanted to take custody of Red Skull illustrates this point.

Ironic that Sam "Snap" Wilson used to be a pimp. Much like the country who's name he now wears. It's the American way.

Mighty Avengers has been one of the best titles of the last few years for me. A year or so of Falcap will do no harm. We all know what will eventually happen. The rest of the team are a nice combo.

HE JUST KILLED THOSE GUYS!

I hate Sam as Captain America. He throws his shield from the sky into their faces and makes them crash with no seatbelts. Talk about death from above.

Wait...am I missing Steve?? This can't be right lol

They're just trying to add some edge to the red, white and blue. It's a temporary change, so I'm cool with it. Steve will be suiting back up as Cap in less than two years (or perhaps earlier).

Don't mind falcon as cap. I'm black and cap is my favorite hero. I do agree that seeing gay stuff everywhere is annoying.
But falcons outfit is annoying. They could've done much better.
