I care so little about this I really considered not writing this post. Stupid overdone plot with characters we don't care about and juvenile looking art.

The ideas arent the problem (except for "Ms Thing" even if they did explain the reason such a suit exists). The problem is this atrocious artwork. It really doesnt help that its a very unappealing line-up.

I can't get over how terrible this artwork is. Marvel ought to be embarrassed to allow this.

One of the reasons I no longer read Marvel books. I will only watch their films, because that's about all the good that comes out of them...

Allred is a brilliant artist, christ, anything slightly unconventional and people whine. His run on X-Force with Peter Milligan several years back was fantastic.

"The FF is dead, if you guys don't listen to me"? Matty Fraction really needs to brush up on his grammar, it seems. It really should have been "The FF will be dead...", but "The FF are dead..." might've been more acceptable. Editors these days seem to get paid for sitting on their asses.

@unibeam11 Agreed! It's like if someone's art style and line work is different and unconventional then he sucks. Horrible judges and critics on here sometimes. Allred's style isn't exactly my favorite either but i at least have a good enough knowledge of the fundamentals of art to highly respect how unique and flattering his work really is. Anyway..awesome book. Can't wait to see where its going..kudos to Marvel.

I've been collecting Marvel Comics since 1967. And without fear of contradiction that is some of the worst art I have ever seen. Beyond awful! That guy would never gotten a job 40 years ago.

No detail. Bad figures. Worse faces. Woeful layout. Has he ever seen a human body?

And spare me the "if you can't see how wonderful it is you must be stupid crap."

Have a nice day!

If I wanted to read a book that looks like it came out of the 70s or 80s, I would read a book made in the 70s or 80s. At least in comparison to Captain Marvel #9 (2013), this looks immaculate. Thank GOD for Friday previews...

I can understand folks not liking Allred's style, these days. Retro-'60s is a little '90s. But what people fail to see is that Allred has adapted his style for the modern era. Now, it's Retro-90's-retro-'60s.

i'm sorry doom, kang the conqueror, and annihilus joined bodies. that's over kill at it's finest.

still don't like the roster for the FF(ms.Thing) but this book is kind of interesting me right now.

Never liked Mike Allred's art for mainstream Marvel Universe comics. Just doesn't have the right feel to me, feels like an out-of continutity sequence every time I see it for some reason.

I don't mind the art at all in other places though. I think it worked great for Madman (his own creation); the art gave it a unique retro kind of zany feel that fit right in. Applying that to marvel characters (in continuity) feels off, less real.

ff is well written but i'm not a fan of this style of artwork, its alright but nothing special.if i want 60s looking art in my comics i would read the classics from that era.

"If I wanted '60s comics I would read it".

Now, I've seen people say this.
I've also seen people complain because comics change and aren't how they used to be.
I'm not sure if these people are the same, but jeez!
The '60s comics were the best. They were what made Marvel popular, they were what made the Silver Age also be "The Marvel Age"!!
I'd take '60s art any day!

It appears to me that Mike Allred is paying direct homage to Jack Kirby.

Really, go and look at some of the early FF stories from the 1960s and you'll see what I mean.
