Siege was one of the worst stories Marvel has ever put out. I really hope this makes up for it.

@Evilolive: Justice league debuted in 1960, Avengers debuted in 1963....so no.

I'm pretty sure the JLA was a modernization of the JSA...Which came before the Avengers...And to be honest..I love Marvel and DC....but they both rip each other off all the time..Always have.

@ barajasster

how is this a rip off of Blackest Night again? Did you read Blackest Night? Because I haven't seen ONE WORD about this story having to do with all the deceased Marvel characters being raised from the dead as zombies. so how can you make that comment?

@ alsimmons

I'll ask you too, have you read Final Crisis? because this sounds nothing like it.

It really just sounds like you guys are DC fans that crap all over anything Marvel.

The bottom line is, like Haroldthehand said, BOTH companies have a history of ripping off each other. Cap dies with a magic bullet that sends his soul through time. Then DC did the same exact thing with Batman. it goes both ways, stop acting like DC is god, and everything Marvel does is a rip off. They're both great companies that both do really good things, and some really bad things...

@ kryptonite

how? how is this a Blackest Night rip off? have you heard anything about dead characters rising from the dead as zombies? thats what blackest night was about, and I haven't seen anything like that with descriptions of fear itself.

All three of them have either died and/or gone through major crises in the past few years. Them dying would just be beating a dead horse. Oh, and btw, we're really doing coughing jokes? *coughantiquatedjokecough*

Barajasster

@corndogburglar- If all you took out of Blackest night was that deceased DC characters came back as zombies, then you clearly missed the point. Blackest Night was about some of the greatest heroes of DC facing their fears and greatest failures in the form of the reanimated dead. They were forced to live out and confront those issues by Nekron, who is essentially a God, and embrace their new lives in the form of the white lantern corps that we see in Blackest Night #8, the point was so much deeper then just zombies, which were only a literary tool to express the regret, fear and remorse that these characters had endured. Fear Itself looks to be about the same thing, heroes overcoming their deepest fears and getting torn down in order to become stronger and prevail. Did you read Blackest Night, or just simply stare at the pretty pictures.

Matt Fraction may be my least favorite writer after reading his take on the Punisher (in Punisher War journal vol 2). And his work on Thor? What a mess that was. Someone convince me otherwise.

@ Godzilla - two parts of Comic Book Movie, ARE COMIC BOOK!!! Wouldn't have the movies without them.

BuckyCap
BuckyCap - 3/8/2011, 5:23 PM
Captain America is about the only Marvel series I read now. Bucky has been a great Cap. I don't like that Steve Rogers is getting the short end of the stick, but Bucky shouldn't get the axe over it.

They should have left Steve Rogers dead because they DRASTICALLY cheapened the storyline by bringing him back and using the BORING lame-o cop out story they did to do it. I am sure they will create another forced storyline where Steve Rogers goes back to being Captain America soon.
CapRonin
CapRonin - 3/8/2011, 7:09 PM
Give Steve his freaking shield back, however i do think Bucky Cap is cool but i think buck should be his own interestin superhero. As for as the cop out it was actually pretty legit, since red skull told him how he wouldnt just kill cap but torture him forever. But yeah please dont kill one of them again i want my original big three again.
niknik
niknik - 3/8/2011, 9:21 PM
But haven't you all heard? The big suit and tie in charge of Marvel now just said that after seeing the sales figures from the Human Torch death issue plans on killing off a main character once per quarter. I'm guessing the "big three" will be killed at least once per year.

Here's an idea: Stop buying these "death" issues. Don't buy the "final" issue of the title, and don't buy the new "First" issue of the new title they replace it with. Only then can we get back to the basic old fashioned idea of using good story telling and art to sell books.
