How can Marvel use an Image character without getting sued? She is an Image character from Spawn right?

I'm not sure if I'm reading that headline right, but the way it's worded makes it sound like Neil Gaiman is Thor's half sister.

Why is everyone surprised about Angela being in this?! Shes been in Marvel for over a year ffs! Gaiman got the rights to her from Todd McFarlane (since he created her) and then he had her show up in the Marvel Universe.

Digging the inside art. It kind of reminds me of Walt Simonson's Thor run back in the 80's.

Felixxx - Image doesn't have the right to her anymore, since Gaiman got the rights, with the help of Marvel and gave them the rights to Angela.

Was it really an issue for Gaiman to have her rights? I thoughtthe whole point of Image was for peeps to hold onto their creations.

Angela first appeared in the Marvel Universe at the end of Age of Ultron. Gaiman got the rights from Seth Mcfarlane. Seth is the creator of Spawn that Neil did collaborative efforts with and with how image is set up is the reason why Neil got Angela back from Seth's comic. Immediately after gaining the rights back he sold Angela to Marvel.

I do miss some of the old Image Comics, Savage Dragon, Cyber Force, Spawn, Storm Watch, WildCats, Gen 13 and Pitt. Some crazy stuff back then, creators weren't afraid to try new things.

Angela is awesome in GoTG.
Her rivalry/friendship with Gamora is great. If it was classic Gamora she would stand a chance against Angela... too bad most of her abilities got retconned in the 2008 reboot of GoTG.

I like how people still don't know that Angela was purchased by Marvel and she is Marvel now.
