POLL: Marvel v DC; Who Has The Better Upcoming Comic Book Movie Slate?

POLL: Marvel v DC; Who Has The Better Upcoming Comic Book Movie Slate?

Both Marvel Studios and DC Comics have unveiled their upcoming movie slates from 2016 to 2020, and it's going to be a very busy (and expensive) few years for us fans. However, now we know what to expect from both Disney and Warner Bros., which studio has the better releases on offer?

Feature Opinion

There are a lot of differences and similarities between Marvel and DC's upcoming movies. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice can easily be compared to Captain America: Civil War, while Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel as well as Cyborg and Black Panther also share some obvious traits. All coincidence of course, something which is evident by unique properties such as Doctor Strange and Sucide Squad geting the big screen treatment. As you can see, they each have quite a list!

On the one hand you have Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Inhumans, and the two-part Avengers: Infinity War. On the other, there's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Shazam, Cyborg, Green Lantern, and a two-part Justice League movie.

The most amazing thing about this list is the fact that we're not even counting the comic book movies from other studios like 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures. Which of these are you most looking forward to and why? Well, we want to know exactly that in the poll and comments section below. This isn't about being a "Marvel Guy" or a "DC Guy"; it's about which of these slates you're most excited about! Keep it civil and stay tuned to CBM for more on all of these movies...

DC, easily. Though I am excited for Civil War, Captain Marvel and Infinity War, the rest just doesn't excite me. Justice League, Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Shazam and Aquaman, however? I am absolutely stoked.

Personally, I call it a draw. Marvel has been putting out really outstanding stuff, but DC has characters and teams we haven't seen on the big screen yet. And both studios have their signature styles. I can't wait to see what the next several years have in store for us.

Because we've seen the films, we can tell you which are best. No but what am I more excited for? At this point DC. I want something new.

It all depends if the future Marvel movies are like the ones that were already made and if all the DC movies are like Man of Steel then I'd say Marvel but that doesn't mean DC won't improve. As a fan of comic books I hope they're all great.

@SuperPickle

That's actually a perfect analysis. I'm ready to see DC's great catalog of stories and characters on the big screen though. I've been waiting too long.

Marvel easily. Just absorb that lineup. BP, Inhumans, Cap 3, Ragnarok. It's just better and more significant. It's full of sequels and new solos that are more impressive than Aquaman and WE no offense to then. BP is more interesting than Aquaman. Better casting as well. I love DC but Marvel announcements and casting is just bigger and better. Excited as a fan for both but more excited for Marvel

Just looking forward to hopefully good overall movies. If the movies suck then the anticipation only makes them that much worse. So I'm just keeping an open mind because the most obscure characters can end up stealing the show if handled properly and the best characters can just suck if poorly handled.. cough...Lantern... cough

MightyZeus - 10/30/2014, 4:56 PM
Really, your doing this!

I'm going to have to say both because both slates or line ups equally overall impressed me and got me hyped.

What really sucks is waiting for these movies to be released and realizing that your going to be old when you see them. Right now i'm just jealous of these teenagers, when i was a teenager i grew up with Fantastic Four, Elektra, X-men 3, Fantastic Four ROTS, Spider-Man 3.

Casting gives Marvel a leg up and experience. They invented the cinematic universe. "We were born in the cinematic universe! Molded by it!" Lol

That's funny, I couldn't care less about Black Panther. But opinions, man.

How can you say Marvel's slate is more significant? That doesn't make sense.

Nice copy and paste comment btw.

And Marvel gets my vote because each and everyone film part of phase 3 feels like it's going to be an event. DC's list seems like filler in between the big impacts like Justice League.

Marvel has a proven record, DC's is trying to catch up with it's tween TV shows. It's not even close. Marvel isn't winning, Marvel won.

If you ask me the slates are pretty identical

Suicide Squad - Guardians

Justice League p1/2 - Avengers Infinity War p1/p2

Wonder Woman - Captain Marvel

Black Panther - Cyborg

Batman v Superman - Civil War

Thor: Ragnarok - Aquaman

Dr. Stange - The Flash

Inhumans - Green Lantern

DC also has Solo Bats and Supes on the way

These are the dumbest thing that could ever be posted... no one has a better slate, it's all opinion. I buy more Marvel Comics than DC, but I tend to like the DC movies better than the Marvel movies. However my taste means nothing about what is actually "better." I'm one more post like this away from moving off of this site for good.

DC of course, because fans have been waiting for decades to see most of the DC characters announced- on screen together. Plus at this point; DC is the underdog and I usually root for the underdogs.

DC simply because it's starting their cinematic universe, while Marvel was already on Phase 3, beside that I guess no one actually expect the DC slate.

GhostDog
GhostDog - 10/30/2014, 5:03 PM
@Dingbat yea i copy and paste lol. What's up?? It's more significant because they hve not films with bigger stakes for their universe. Ragnarok has been described as Thor's Cap:TWS...it's gonna affect the MCU cosmic like Cap 2 affected te earthly MCU. It's the end of days. Gods will die. Cap 3 will heavily ahow the MCU with civil war. BP will open up te world of MCU to WAKANDA. Inhumans will be like marvels mustants. WW is big i admit Aquaman is cool but cyborg doesn't have a rogues gallery. DC has to usher out origin stories with their slate besides JL part one and two and mos 2 when it's announced

It's got to be contextual, I think. He'd rip Iron Man's armor to shreds, but if he's fighting a normal dude, I think he'd just punch him in the face.
