CONSTANTINE Sequel An Ungranted Wish For Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves lists Hellblazer's John Constantine as the only character he'd like to play again on film besides Ted from Bill & Ted. What are the actual chances of that happening?

A Constantine tv show is in development at NBC with Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman screenwriter David S. Goyer steering the ship. Constantine is also set to appear in Guilermo del Toro's Justice League Dark movie, which the director assures is still happening and some speculate will be part of the fledgling DC Cinematic Universe. But for many, the first introduction to the con man magic-user was in the 2005 Constantine film from director Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and starring Keanu Reeves (47 Ronin). The film earned $230.8 million dollars at the worldwide box office on a $100 million dollar budget. Not a flop per say but not enough for Warner Bros. to greenlight a sequel either. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Keanu stated, "I would like to have played John Constantine again. I liked playing that character and there seemed to be a way to continue that. That’s the only one that comes to mind." Reeves was asked if there was a character he's previously played that he would like to play again after talking about the status of Bil & Ted 3. Unfortunately for Reeves, del Toro has already stated that the Constantine in his film will be blond, like the character is depicted in the comic books.
