Expect A Blond, British John CONSTANTINE For His NBC TV Series
No word yet on what actor will play the foul mouthed occultist in the show, but Bleeding Cool reckon they've at least confirmed that this incarnation will be a lot truer to the comic book character than Keanu Reeves' big screen version. Click on for more.
When it was announced that Hellblazer's John Constantine would be getting his own NBC series many fans were concerned that we'd be getting another Americanized version of the character, but according to Bleeding Cool we can rest easy on that front, as whoever ends up in the role, he will be playing a blond haired Brit. The site maintain that although they may not cast a British actor, Constantine will "be a Londoner, and he’s going to talk with his accent." In the comics JC originates from Liverpool and would have a very distinctive Scouse accent - I wouldn't hold out for that! However, this is still very encouraging news.
