Katheryn Winnick (Vikings, The Art of The Steal) has announced that she's signed on for a new project, the full details of which will be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con next week.

We don't have anything else to go on right now, but because Winnick has campaigned to play DC superheroine Black Canary in the past, some fans are once again excited at the prospect that she may have landed the role.

While there is a slim chance this is indeed the case, we don't know if this mystery project is even CBM-related so probably best not to get your hopes up. That said, the fact that the news is being announced at SDCC does suggest that it will be something of interest to us fanboys and girls.

Ah yes this I saw it on Twitter last week.

Could be anything tbh.

If it is for DCEU it likely will be for their upcoming and super-in-the-works Gotham City Sirens. Maybe she will be Black Canary and will face off against Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy and Catwoman etc. I think they were fast-tracking it and if not there have to be some updates in their slate because right now they are only working on post production JL and filming Aquaman. There is nothing else.

And it has been approximately 7 months since Gotham City Sirens was announced.

They need to get things started.

THat is some awesome casting also she's a Black Belt in Martial Arts and got her first Black Belt at 13. Man, I wish I had stuck with Karate as a kid, would go well with my love of fitness.

I hope the piece de resistance of the DCEU panel is announcing who's playing Shazam and its release date. The sooner we see Black Adam, the better.
