Some comic book fans go to SDCC for the cool, limited-edition memorabilia. Others attend for a chance to rub shoulders with their favorite TV and movie stars. And some fans attend just for the cosplay.
If you're the latter, you definitely saw a ton of cool costumes and mash-ups, all of varying skills but this SDCC 2018 cosplay gallery contains some of the very best. Of course, if you think we missed any especially spectacular feats of cosplay, feel free to post them in the comment section below. You can also let us know which of the featured costumes are your favorite.

All these years later and Heath Ledger's Joker scene from The Dark Knight where he hangs out of the police car window is still one of the most iconic comic book movie scenes of all-time.
Hellboy

This Hellboy cosplay appears to be inspired by the Ron Perlman version of the character. However, we're sure the upcoming reboot starring Stranger Things' David Harbour will be inspiring its own cosplay once the film hits theaters in 2019.
Lord Zedd

This Lord Zedd cosplay looks like it came directly from the original Power Rangers show from the '90s. With Hasbro recently acquiring the rights to Power Rangers, there's talk that another live-action film might happen despite the poor box office performance of the 2017 relaunch by Lionsgate.
Avengers: Infinity War Thor

This Avengers: Infinity War cosplay of Thor Odinson is truly outstanding. Despite what Odin said at the end of Thor: Ragnarok, Infinity War made it seem as if Odin's second-born might be the "god of hammers" after all.
MCU Wasp Hope Van Dyne

What did you think of the Wasp's MCU debut? While some purists are still a tad miffed that Joss Whedon's original gathering of Earth's Mightiest Heroes didn't feature Hank and Janet, the dynamic between Scott and Hope brings something different to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Dark Nights Metal Red Death
Red Death Flash from Dark Nights Metal by

Of all the evil Dark Multiverse Batman from Dark Nights Metal, The Red Death might be the coolest. Batman fans have long argued that if The Dark Knight actually had powers, he'd be unstoppable but the six-issue miniseries from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo illustrated that those abilities proved to be his undoing in most instances.
Rally For Rose @ SDCC
For some strange reason, Kelly Marie Tran found herself at the forefront of angry Star Wars fans and the backlash from The Last Jedi. It led to Tran having to wipe her Instagram account clean after online harassment. At SDCC, The Nerds of Color organized a rally to show their support and demonstrate that all Star Wars fans aren't loony.
Zuri - "Pink" Panther Edition

Sometimes it's better to demonstrate a sense of humor instead of technical precision. Ever since the world became swept up in the MCU's Black Panther phenomenon, there have been numerous Pink Panther memes and jokes. One cosplayer took things a bit further with this unique rendition of Forest Whitaker's Zuri.
Shuri?
Black Panther by
@YesThisIsAlexis (Twitter)
We're not sure whether Alexis is cosplaying as Shuri or a female-T'Challa but either way, we'll take it! The attention to detail on the gloves and mask are especially impressive.
Venom

Surely Tom Hardy's upcoming Venom movie will feature a scene where Eddie Brock is mid-transformation. Instances where the host struggles for control with the symbiote are a staple of any Spider-Man/Venom comic.
Avengers: Infinity War Iron Spider
By
@LensesFactoryHK
This video actually surfaced a week before SDCC but the functional Iron Spider suit did actually roam the SDCC halls. It will be interesting to see what happens to the costume in the MCU if the Avengers 4 time-travel theories prove true.
DCEU Aquaman

That's some serious dedication right there by Nate Emond. Hopefully, he dons another costume from the Aquaman film where it's now been confirmed that Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry will wear the classic-inspired green and orange armor.
Wonder Woman
DCEU Wonder Woman by

Most SDCC reports pick Wonder Woman as the most popular costume and @cupcakesandcosplay doesn't disappoint in this DCEU-inspired rendition.

This Deadpool costume from @cosplayagainstbullying looks as if it stepped right of a 20th Century Fox set. With the Fox-Disney merger approved, who knows what the future holds for Ryan Reynolds' Weapon X reject.

Where the Pink Panther-Zuri cosplay swapped comedy for technical execution, the above costume from @magnetomystique should get a reward for creativity.

Numerous sites are picking Buzzfeed's @dangerousatanyspeed's Wonder Woman cosplay as the best Diana Prince rendition at this year's SDCC.
Killer Croc

Don't' ever say Killer Croc can't be done in film. The above cosplay by@emg555 demonstrates that Waylon Jones could easily make the transition from page to screen.
