In mid-June, Walt Disney Studios announced that legendary Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan would provide the voices of Mufasa and Simba, respectively, in the upcoming Hindi dub version of Jon Favreau's
The Lion King, which is slated to debut in theaters in India on July 19th.
With the film now just under three weeks away, Disney has debuted an awesome new "Rise of the King" trailer featuring our first preview of King Khan lending his voice to arguably the most iconic on-screen father of all-time.
The Lion King will be the second collaboration between the Khans and Disney as the pair previously voiced Mr. Incredible and Dash in the Hindi dub of
The Incredibles in 2004. The father-son duo also worked together on Karan Johar's 2001 blockbuster
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham..., where Aryan made a brief cameo during the film's opening credits playing a younger version of his father's character, Rahul Raichand.
With an estimated net worth of over $750 million and a passionate fan base that expands into the hundreds of millions worldwide, Shah Rukh Khan is widely considered the biggest movie star in the world. His resume boasts over a hundred acting credits and he also owns a very successful production studio, Red Chillies Entertainment, as well as his increasingly impressive visual effects company, Red Chillies VFX.
