DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Spoilers: Here's What Happens In The Film's Post-Credits Scenes!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has two post-credits scenes, but are they worth sticking around for? That's usually the case with Marvel Studios, and we're breaking down both of them here!

By HamiltonParker - May 04, 2022 07:05 PM EST

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has earned positive reviews from critics, and as it starts rolling out into theaters across the globe, fans will soon get to have their say.

It's already been confirmed that the film has two post-credits scenes, but those of you who can't wait to find out what they entail will find a detailed breakdown of both below. If you have already caught the film, then we also attempt to better explain what these sequences mean and what they're setting up.

Extra scenes like these have become a key part of Marvel Studios' approach to storytelling, so we're sure you won't be surprised to learn that at least one of them has major consequences for Stephen Strange's future. The other, meanwhile, is a little more light-hearted in its approach.

It goes without saying that we're getting into heavy SPOILERS here, so you'll have to hit Next if you want to find out what to expect from the Doctor Strange sequel's two stingers!

Post-Credits Scene #1

IRONCAT2022002-Predator-Mayhew3343

Walking down the street near the Sanctum Sanctorum, Stephen suddenly hears a female voice call out to him and turns to see a woman comic book fans will instantly recognise as Clea.

Decked out in a comic accurate purple costume, she accuses him of having caused an incursion and tells him they're going to fix it. Using an energy blade to quite literally cut a hole in her surroundings to what looks an awful lot like Dormammu's Dark Dimension, Clea asks if he's afraid. Strange responds "Not in the least" before a third eye appears on his head and he follows her into the unknown.

It's one heck a of cliffhanger, and suggests that Strange has continued to embrace dark magic after using it to help defeat the Scarlet Witch. That may not bode well for the MCU's future, though we're excited to see what Charlize Theron brings to this role when Doctor Strange 3 inevitably rolls around.

Post-Credits Scene #2

A Deadpool cameo? Spider-Man, perhaps? Not quite. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' second post-credits scene picks up on an earlier gag, with Bruce Campbell's "Pizza Poppa!" vendor punching himself in the face before stopping, looking at the camera, and exclaiming, "It's over!"

Unless you're a huge Campbell fan, we'd say this one probably isn't worth sticking around for. It's a fun way to wrap up an earlier joke, but is only a few seconds long and played solely for laughs.

The actor originally played Balder the Brave in the sequel and was set to be a member of The Illuminati. However, he was switched out to make that team a little more star-studded, and you can find a full breakdown of the members by clicking here. We'll give Sam Raimi credit for finding a way to still include his longtime Evil Dead collaborator and friend, but essential viewing it ain't!

This whole movie was waste to me in terms of strange fan. After infinity war I was hyped but he jobbed in Endgame, then SM and now in his own movie. Post credit felt like Marvel saying: Hey may be next time.

@TheHumanSpider2 - Another is Cumberbatch not saying " No shit Sherlock!" To late to say it to Downey but still time to say it to Freeman's character.

Illuminati was completely wasted in this movie.

Anti climactic like the Mandarin being introduced as Trevor in IM3.

@XKnight - that was the point, to show how powerful and frightening scarlet witch is by eliminating them within seconds..im pretty sure there will an illuminati in the main mcu. They were variants no point on sticking around

Clea, finally... this should lead to more Dormammu, Umar, eventually to Loki/Dormammu Team-Up and Avengers/Defenders clash.

Can't think of post-credit scenes in the MCU I liked less atm. I'm probably forgetting some I disliked, but these two have to be bottom 5 for me.

@Kyos - the drumming ant from Ant-Man and the Wasp was definitely one sticking around for. Or the one from The Dark World with Jane and Thor kissing.

I really like the first one. Not entirely convinced of the casting yet, but definitely a fan of what it sets up. Here's hoping we're gonna get Dormammu and Mordo in the threequel (that better not be another six year wait away)

What is wrong with this website, y'all have been posting spoiler before the movie even drops statewide, like get a grip. Y'all could at least wait for the damn actual release date to drop these articles.
