Kevin Feige Talks DOCTOR STRANGE, Thanos, The Infinity Gauntlet And Much More

Kevin Feige talks about everything from the sight of Captain America's broken shield to the significance of Josh Brolin (Thanos) wearing the Infinity Gauntlet on stage at this past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con and much, much more. Hit the jump to check it out!

In an interview with Collider, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige addresses the significance of a scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron which features the team spending time together in Avengers Tower. He also teases Thanos' importance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe now that Josh Brolin has been confirmed as playing the iconic character, as well as whether or not we'll see the villain play a bigger role in the recently announced Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Perhaps most interesting are Feige's comments about future heroes when he's asked if Marvel intend to follow the comics by race swapping or gender swapping certain characters like Captain America and Thor. "It's more likely that we'll see some of the existing African American or African African characters come to life," he responded, and that last part sounds an awful lot like Black Panther, eh?

I can only think of 3 things to break that shield. Hopefully its none of them because I want to be surprised. I don't remember an explanation of why its in pieces in the Age of Ultron books.

my theory is that the broken shield wasn't for real, Wanda is projecting a future reality to Tony of what will become of him and the Avengers when Thanos comes to Earth and causes havoc now having acquired all the Infinity Stones for the gauntlet - which can break the shield let alone anything else.

I think Scarlett Witch has something to do with that scene, I know it's far off, but what if Andy Serkis is playing "The Serpent", because Odin is dead.

The MCU does sound like its setting up its BP debut. If Ultron breaks the shield in AOU we should at least get a cameo of BP in Cap 3.

If all the cool shit is Scarlet Witch getting in their heads in Act 1 before she shakes off being controlled by Strucker then either all the cool images will be done or knowing Whedon it just gets better in Act 2 and 3...I want reality more than what if and mind [frick] powers...so the image of Stark surrounded by the fallen Avengers hopefully happens.

Not the Black Panther hysteria again. In a perfect world, Wakanda would at least get a mention if not a feature in Age of Ultron. In the animated series, Vision goes to Wakanda to steal Cap's broken but newly repaired shield and steal vibranium, but it does not seem like Whedon will be going that route. I do wonder if Falcon and War Machine will actually be joining the fight in Age of Ultron or will they somehow get injured during the initial attack and be out of commission the rest of the movie. While I would like to see a BP movie sometime soon, the BP in Cap 3 would somewhat negate the ending of Cap 2 where Cap made it his mission to hunt down Winter Soldier and Falcon would be his side kick. Then again in the comics, Black Panther gave Falcon the flight harness that fans known him to use. So many possibilities for Black Panther, yet so much room for disappointment.
