Really, really liked this movie.... Sure the origin story formula is pretty standard. But it was so different than everything we've seen so far. Cumberbatch absolutely killed it and I can't wait to see him interact with the Avengers.

Any idea if we actually get to see him in Thor: Ragnarok?

Really liked this film. It has quite a few plot holes and the first half is pretty standard origin story, but the second half is basically one long balls to the walls action sequence after action sequence that is really entertaining to watch.

I gave it an 8/10

Really enjoyed this one. The visuals were amazing. The story was on par, but like Kman (above) said, Cumberbatch killed it.

I appreciated the logic of time they used into the Eye of Agamotto. The mention of diverging timelines, time loops etc. aren't often all together whenever fiction introduces space-time manipulation. This is a personal favorite of mine out of most of the Marvel films.

Only issue I have is Mads Mikkelsen joins the list of villains that don't exactly stick.

Finally got to watch it last night, It was alright definitely not Marvel's best but glad to see that they can bring a character like doctor strange onto the big screen and pull it off...DC should take notes. 6/10

I love Mr Sundays Weekly Planet podcast and breakdown videos. But F his partner Nick Mason. F him in the A.

[frick] me guys, Mads was wasted so bad.

They should've have kept him around to act as Dormammu's human form. Kaecillius wasn't even that bad either, but Marvel could've have gotten any other actor and nothing would have changed.

The movie would've honestly benefited from another 20 mins. Time to strengthen Kaecillius' development a bit and also show more of Strange's training as a sorcerer (was a bit rushed tbh).

Anyway, it was a killer movie. Fairly close to Iron Man, GOTG and TWS on my list.

@TheFro - We don't know if he was destroyed or not in the end... Perhaps he becomes Dormammu's vessel in the future?
TheFro
TheFro - 11/7/2016, 8:07 AM
@Fogs - You never know, but his death did seem pretty final.

Tbh, They should've done something with Kaecillius for the end credits scene. It could've also replaced that completely useless and way too on the nose Mordo one.

@TheFro - Well he didn't die, he's still alive in the Dark Dimension. I could see them bringing Mads back as Dormammu for the third one.

@comiccow6 - Yeah, I think it's pretty clear that he and the Zealots became the mindless ones. This could set him up to be a conduit for Dormammu, if they decide to give him a human form in the future films.

Really hope we see Mordo get in contact with Nightmare for the second film. Would make sense, Mordo wants to kill all the sorcerors, he goes to nightmare for help, and the fear lords then go after Strange.
GinjaNinja
GinjaNinja - 11/7/2016, 8:08 AM
@GinjaNinja - Also, Mordo won't be able to single handedly take down the entire "cult."
TheFro
TheFro - 11/7/2016, 8:10 AM
@GinjaNinja - yeah Nightmare is the perfect villain for the sequel. Marvel could really explore the horror aspect of the universe that no other movies has touched on yet.
