"As if I didn't already know. You must have had a bad day too Bats. I mean, why else would you dress up as a flying rat?"
THE ROOFTOPS OF GOTHAM CITY
BATMAN is running across the roofs, talking to ALFRED.
Alfred: "Master Bruce, have you caught Carlo yet?"
Batman: "Yes, I have. After a 5 month pursuit. He's on his way to the asylum now."
Clayface:"Or IS he?"
Batman:"Basil? I thought you were-"
Clayface: "On my way to the asylum? Sorry to disappoint you Batman, but I have other things to do. Now do me a favor, and DIE!"
He rushed at Batman, and almost hit him, but he dodged, and Clayface ran off the rooftop. His body splattered across the ground as Commissioner Gordon pulled up with several other cops.
Gordon: "Thanks Batman!"
Cop: "Um...sir?"
Gordon: "Yeah?"
Cop: "No one's there."
Gordon: "He's there."
THE BATCAVE
Batman is talking to SELINA KYLE, about HARVEY DENT.
Selina: "Look, Bruce. Harvey has been acting strange. Ever since he was scarred, he's been looking for his coin. Catherine told me that he found it and cut up one side with a knife. He laughed the entire time. And sometimes he talks normally. Other times, he talks in a raspy voice. His multiple personalities are...I don't know, taking over."
Bruce: "Selina, I don't want to hear it. I know about it, I just don't want to hear it. Harvey was my best friend, and I let this happen to him. I'm still trying to find the Red Hood."
Selina: "Bruce, he's dead. Just accept that you let someone die. And he wanted to die, remember?"
Bruce: "He isn't dead. He's too good. I know the Hood. He's out in Gotham, and I'm going to find him."
Alfred: "Master Bruce, I know you've been through much tonight, but-"
Bruce: "BatWave activated?"
Alfred: "Yes. It seems that the Ace Chemicals-"
Bruce: "Stop right there."
Selin: "Why? Oh."
He went to the Bat-computer, and hacked into the surveillance footage.
Bruce: "Okay, there's no one there. Wait! Is that, me? And the Red Hood? The cameras have been looped! Okay Alfred, get-wait!"
Selina: "What? It's The Hood, right?"
Bruce: "The footage just leaped forward. I knew it. The Red Hood isn't dead."
The only thing on the screen, was the picture of the Red Hood's hand coming out of a vat of chemicals.
HARVEY DENT'S HOUSE
Harvey is asleep with CATHERINE, his wife.
Harvey is arguing with himself in his sleep when he wakes up, sweating.
Harvey: "Huh? What?"
"Hi Harv, how you doing?"
He talks in a raspy voice. Harvey looks around, wondering where the voice came from. Then he remembers the bandages covering half his face.
Harvey: "No, it's you. I can control you. You...you are just a part of my mind."
"Oh, don't think that. I mean, we share a body! Just take off the bandages. You'll see.
Harvey: "NO! I WON'T LISTEN!!!"
Catherine: "Huh? Harvey?"
Harvey: "I'm sorry, but Harv ain't here right now. And lady, where's the coin?"
Catherine: "No, I can't give you the coin. I'm sorry but I can't Harvey. You know what it does to you."
Harvey: "Give me the-"
"Dont do it!"
"I WANT MY COIN!!!"
Harvey's son, MATTHEW comes in.
Matthew: "Dad, what''s going on?"
Harvey: "Shut up kid!"
"Matthew, RUN! NOW!"
"Where's the coin!?! I WANT IT!!! Not talking, huh? Fine."
He got up and took a suitcase from the closet. He opened it, and pulled out a gun.
Harvey: "WHERE IS IT!!?!!?"
Catherine: "In a compartment behind the microwave! Please don't kill me!"
Harvey: Thanks bi-"
"Catherine, it wouldn't have. I wouldn't have let it. That thing needs the coin to decide."
He walked to the microwave. He tossed it out of the way and found the compartment. He opened it, and took the coin. It was cut on one end, but clean on the other. Catherine ran out, and was at gunpoint.
Harvey: "Now then. Just a flip of the coin will decide if you're free to go, or if we blow you're brains out here and now."
He tossed the coin, and it landed clean side up.
Harvey: "Oh thank God. Get Matthew out. NOW!"
"NO! You're going to stay here, and we're going to flip again. There are two lives at stake."
Catherine: "No. No, Harvey you have to listen to me!"
Harvey: "Shut up! Let's see."
He flipped the coin. It landed scarred side up.
Harvey: "Huh. Guess you're lucky toots. 'Course, the boy isn't."
"No. No!"
He pointed the gun at Matthew. Catherine took the bullet.
Harvey: "NO! Why? Why couldn't you just let the kid die lady? Huh? Tell me!"
"No! Matthew, Matthew run. Get Gordon. Get the police! Run!"
He ran outside. In pajamas. Barefoot. Without a mother. And given a single task. By a father who just tried to kill him.
THE ACE CHEMICALS BUILDING
Batman is racing towards the building in the Batmobile. As he nears, a strange laughing sound is picked up on the Batmobile's scanners.
Batman: "Alfred, Hood's inside. I'm sure of it. But I'm hearing a laugh on the scanners."
Selina: "Happy laugh, fake laugh, or clown laugh?"
Batman: "What?"
Selina: "You know. Clown laugh. Creepy, 'I'm gong to kill you' kind of laugh. What? I hate clowns."
Alfred: " -sigh- Well, that isn't good. Be careful in there."
Selina: "See, this is why you need a partner. To make situations like this less dangerous."
Batman: "I'll think about it Selina. But just so we're clear, no. Alfred, I'm here. Bye."
He walked into the building. As he came in, he saw clown heads on the walls, and miniature carnival rides. With bodies of dead employees riding.
Batman: "What the hell happened here?"
"WELCOME! You are now entering JOKER ENTERPRISES!!! Here at Joker Enterprises, we make sure no one leaves alive! I, Joker, founder and only employee at Joker Enterprises, am now talking to you from the managers office! Yes, that's right! The manager's office! This isn't a trick! Not a joke! Although it could be a trap! He he he. So hurry up Batman. I'm right here."
He raced to the manager's office. Batman stepped on something as he was running. He looked down, and saw the rotting corpse of the Ventriloquist, still clutching Scarface, with a broken head. He ran on. He saw the manager's office when a gas came out of the air ducts. He breathed some in. He tried to go on. He couldn't. He passed out.
THE BAT-CAVE
Selina: "Alfred, we haven't heard from Bruce for two hours. Track him."
Alfred: "Miss Kyle, I am sure Master Bruce is fine."
Selina: "Really?"
Alfred: "Well, no. I'll track him."
Alfred went on the Bat-computer. He typed in a code, and an image of Earth came up on the screen. It zoomed in on North America. Then the U.S.A. Then Gotham. Park Row. The Ace Chemicals building. The manager's office.
Alfred: "Oh No. He's been kidnapped. He's, he's-"
Selina: "What?"
Alfred: He's being held over a vat of chemicals."
THE ACE CHEMICALS BUILDING
Joker: "One bad day, blah blah blah! They heard that already."
Batman: "You're insane!"
Joker: Yeah, yeah. I forgot you don't know. Now then. I'm not going to drop you in there. No, no, no. I'm going to wait for you to escape! I know you can. So just do it. Stop me. Defeat the man-no. The monster who will destroy Gotham before the fun even begins! Get out and punch me until I bleed! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! And then punch me some more! And then...you bring me to Arkham!"
Batman: "Who are you?"
Joker: "Oh, you don't know? World's Greatest Detective indeed. Ha ha ha! I'm Joker!"
Batman: "I don't care about you. I'm just after the Red Hood. Where is he!?!"
Joker: "I'm hurt Bats. Oh, and if you're looking for Hood, you should care about me. Although I'm not sure. I seem to only to remember a red mask, a toothpick poking my eye out, and giving myself surgery with a rusty nail. Aren't you going to ask me my master plan you idiot? What kind of a hero are you that you don't ask the master plan?"
Batman: "What's your plan?"
Joker: "TO SPREAD HAPPY GAS ACROSS ALL OF GOTHAM!!! EVERYONE WITH A SMILE ON THEIR FACE!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! What? No gasp?"
Batman: "That's it? I expected more Hood."
Joker: "Who's this Hood guy? I'd LOVE to meet him."
The Next Day
THE COURTHOUSE
Harvey Dent is arguing with himself. The bandages have come off.
Harvey: "Come on Harv. Screw justice. He's killed men. Shipped illegal drugs. He's a mob boss. Falcone deserves to die. You're already a wanted man. Or, you're already a wanted MEN."
"No. The law is the only thing keeping Gotham from ripping itself apart."
"As if that isn't already happening! You think the law is helping here? 5,000 of the 13,000 men and women get mugged each week here. Half the children are there when it happens. In fact, your best friend lost his parents. Even you broke it. Just flip the coin Harv."
He flipped the coin, and it landed cut side up. He took the gun off his desk.
Carmine Falcone was being put on trial.
Falcone: "Hi Harv. You look fantastic."
Judge: "What's going on here? Harvey? What? You aren't supposed to be-you're a criminal.
Harvey: "Shut up! NOW!"
Falcone: "Are we gonna get started? I have places to be. People to hire to kill."
BANG!!!
Falcone dropped dead. All hell broke loose in the courtroom. Three quarters of the jury were Falcone's men. They shot at Harvey. The judge was shot down. Harvey ran out of the courtroom.
WAYNE ENTERPRISES
Bruce Wayne is giving a demonstration on combat armor with the board and HUGO STRANGE.
Bruce: "Now, when we improve this prototype armor and put it into commission, it will improve military combat, construction safety, and protection against crime. All perfect for Gotham."
Strange: "And we will make sure they don't cost 500 grand when they are put out."
Bruce: "Yes Mr. Strange, that is a goal. Now-"
Selina bursts into the room.
Strange: "Who are you? How'd you get in here?"
Bruce: "It's a friend."
Selina: "It?"
Board Member: "Can we get on with the presentation?"
Selina: "Bruce, someone wants to see you."
Bruce: "Who?"
Strange: "Can you please-"
Selina: "Bruce, it's him."
Bruce: "Oh. Him. And that concludes our demonstration good night!"
Strange: "Mr. Wayne, you can't just-"
He ran out.
Strange: "Crap."
Bruce got in his car. He drove to Wayne Manor.
THE ACE CHEMICALS BUILDING
Batman is searching the building for the Joker. He hears a laughing sound and follows it to the main production facility.
Joker: "Hello Bats! How you doing? Wait a minute! You left? How...how could you leave me? You MONSTER! Anyways, are you enjoying all that brooding, and beating up thugs? I think you do. Ha ha he ha ho!!!"
Batman punched Joker, and he fell on the floor.
Joker: "That's it Bats! I'm in a position where I can easily be killed! Go on! Stop on my throat! Do it...! No? Okay then Bats, it's on!"
Joker got up and threw a punch at Batman. He missed. Batman grabbed Joker's head, and slammed it against his knee, and punched him again.
Batman: "You're insane! Just give up now Hood!"
Joker: Oh, I'M the insane one? HA HA HA!!! Oh, Bats, you're just as insane as me! You dress up as a flying rodent, have an assortment of 'gadgets' and go out to fight crime, thinking you'll make a difference. And even if you beat me, you won't win. Because you won't kill me. I'll be left to rot in the Asylum, but I'll be released. Or escape. And I'll threaten Gotham again. And again. And again. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! Oh, I think I've found your tragic flaw!"
Batman punched him again.
THE DENT'S HOUSE
Harvey: I'm a murderer. I murdered twice. Catherine's in my closet. I let myself be...controlled by the coin. By you. This is your fault."
"My fault!?! It isn't my fault you look like this! That's what allowed me to come out."
"Wait, no. My mood swings. Multiple personalities. Oh God, no. No."
"I was always there Harv, but no one saw me. I was hidden away inside of you. But now, they can."
"But it's still your fault. Now all the criminals I put in jail are to be released. Soon the cops will show up, and it's only a matter of time before I'm just another scumbag mugging people!"
"But you don't have to be. Get even Harv. Become the first in a...better kind of criminal. You'd call us an... anti-hero, right? Who didn't save you in time? Huh?"
"Batman. But I won't kill him. not without the one who's really to blame. I want the Red Hood."
The phone rang. Harvey picked up, and an unfamiliar voice said:
"Run Dent. The cops are coming. Or will you stay? Heads or tails." -click-
Harvey: "Heads, we run. Tails, we stay."
"I like it."
He flipped his coin.
THE BAT-CAVE
Batman has brought the Joker into custody, in the Bat-cave.
Alfred (via radio): "And just why, have you brought him to the cave?"
Batman: "I can study him here. And it's safer than any jail cell."
Joker: "Do I have any say in where I'm kept? No? Didn't think so."
Alfred: "And need I remind you that Deadshot broke in here when the Hood was hunting you down? And Clayface just two months ago?"
Joker: "Oh, I'll never get out of this cave! Never see the sun again! Oh, my world is fading fast! I need vitamin D! Oh, what a world! Everything is black!"
Batman: "Be quiet. Now!"
Joker: "-gasp- Wow Bats! You're care and support for my well being just made everything worse. Ha ha ha!"
Batman: "Is everything funny to you?"
Joker: "Yes, except a good joke. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! Sorta like your face! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
Batman went inside Joker's cell and took a sample of his blood. He went back out and put the sample into the Bat-computer's scanner. It matched the Red Hood's blood, but with chemicals intruding the veins and organs.
Batman: "So, if he didn't die, the chemicals bleached his skin and drove him to insanity. Hood tried to kill himself laughing. They're definitely the same person."
Selina (via radio): "Bruce, did you catch the Joker? Of course you did. But did you?"
Batman: "Yes, I got him. As an added bonus, his and the Red Hood's blood are exactly the same."
Selina: "Okay Bruce. Now, get up to the Manor. Alfred wants you to call it a night. I think you should. Oh, not to mention the fundraiser.
Batman: "I don't know. Harvey was on the news, I just found out. Cops were after him. I want to check it out."
Selina: "Fine. Alfred won't be happy though. I'll see you later."
Batman: "Bye."
Joker: "See ya Bats."
THE DENT'S HOUSE
Batman has just arrived at the house with COMMISSIONER GORDON.
Batman: "What did Dent do?"
Gordon: "Well, he killed his wife and, and threatened his child with a gun. He shot Carmine Falcone. He ran before we got here. Damn that Vale lady, giving away our position."
Batman: "I caused this. I let him be scarred by acid and it drove him insane. Damn me."
Gordon: "I don't want you to think-"
Batman: "Don't worry Gordon, I'll get him."
He grappled away. Batman ran across rooftops when...
BANG!
He fell down. Harvey walked up to him.
Harvey: "I knew sticking close to the house would pay off. Now then Bat. Heads or tails?"
Batman: "Harvey, you're better than this! Fight it! Fight it Harvey!"
Harvey: "I don't want you, I just want the Hood."
Batman: "Joker. Fight it!"
Harvey: "Joker? We'll keep that in minds. Now your fate-"
"-lies in the coin."
He flipped the coin. It landed clean side up. Harvey ran.
THE BAT-CAVE
Joker: "Hello! Hello! Anyone home? No? Good."
He got up, and opened the door.
Joker: "So careless Bats. Now then, lets look at that computer of his. My blood, Gotham sewer lines, and where Batman is right now. Oh, this is too good. lets see, a small river leading to a pipe! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! Do de do do. Now then, I take some blood, take some more from my body, dump it in, get some more, dump that in, oh this will be glorious!"
He ran back into his cell.
GOTHAM ROOFTOP
Batman and Two-Face are fighting on a roof.
Batman: "Harvey! FIGHT IT!!!"
Harvey: "NO!!! Chance is only fair! I'm doing the right thing!"
Batman: "Harvey! You're not! You tried to kill me, you're wife, and you killed Falcone!"
Harvey: "HE WAS A MOB BOSS!"
Batman: "That doesn't make it right for you to kill him!"
Harvey: "DIE!!!"
Batman: "You won't kill me! Your coin decided I live. But shoot me anyway. Kill me. Do it Harvey."
He took out his gun. He pointed it at Batman, and shot the other way. Batman tackled Harvey, and they fell 3 floors of the building. Harvey was knocked out. When he woke up, he was in a jail cell.
Harvey: "I'll kill you Batman! I'll kill you!!!"
Bruce Wayne: "Hi Harvey. I just... heard about you in jail, and I wanted to visit."
Harvey: "Go the-"
"Hi Bruce. I... I didn't want this to happen."
Bruce: "No one did Harv. Selina's here too."
Selina: "Harvey I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
Harvey: "Thanks guys. Now go. I just want to be alone. Or as alone as I can possibly get."
THE BAT-CAVE
Batman: "Joker!"
Joker: "Yes mommy? Am I in trouble?"
Batman: "Shut up."
Joker: "Humph. I hope you drink some tap water."
Batman: "What? What did you do?"
Joker: "Nothing mommy. Maybe you should come and find out."
Batman went into the cell. Joker got up, and looked at Batman. Then he punched Batman. He punched back, and Joker grabbed Batman's arm, and smashed his head against Batman's. He punched Joker in the face, but not before Joker kicked his crotch.
Joker: "Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
Batman kicked Joker in the stomach, and punched him. Joker pushed Batman, pushed him away, and ran out of the cell. He took out a batarang, but Joker wasn't there.
Batman: "Alfred, Joker's gone. I'm going out to look for him."
Alfred: "No Master Bruce. Call it a night. You have a fundraiser for Miss Kyle tomorrow, need I remind you."
Batman: "I know Alfred, but this man is a maniac. A dangerous, killing, devious, maniac!"
Alfred: "Just sleep, Master Bruce. He can't do much harm in just two days now can he?"
Batman: "Okay, fine. I guess that I can go two days. But I'm going after him the second after."
Alfred: "Thank you, Master Bruce. Now go to sleep."
Batman: "Okay Alfred. I'm coming up from the cave now."
Alfred: "Okay Master Bruce. -sigh- A clown, a ventriloquist, a glob of clay. What's next? A giant crocodile?"
WAYNE MANOR
The fundraiser for Selina Kyle has begun. Bruce Wayne's helicopter lands outside, and he runs in.
Bruce: "Sorry I'm late everyone. Oh, Selina."
Selina: "Hi Bruce. You know, you're going to be late to your own funeral."
Bruce: "I'll be fighting the guys who did it."
Selina: "So, were you off fighting crime?"
Bruce: "In a way. I had to stop LexCorp from purchasing the company. Having a good time?"
Selina: "Well, if you call raising enough money to put my charity across half of North America in 30 minutes a good time. And you do know that he's gone, right?"
Bruce: "I do. But I didn't want to miss this. I also don't mind it when you willingly speak to me."
Selina: "I wouldn't be mad. For long. I would understand."
Bruce: "After two and a half weeks."
Selina: "I wouldn't be mad that long."
Bruce: "Two weeks and a day. And I wouldn't want Gotham hating me a while either. You know, missing a fundraiser I advised. And promised to host. And that's for my best friend. Y'know?"
Selina: "That would make people mad. Do you know where the punch is?"
A woman runs up to Bruce.
"Bruce, come quickly! Something terrible happened!"
Bruce: "What? What happened?"
GOTHAM CITY RAIDIO BUILDING
The Joker is holding everyone inside the building hostage.
Joker: "I'm the one with the gun! Tell me where I can transmit my broadcast!"
Man: "Y-you can do it over there! Down the hall! Second left!"
Joker: "Thanks."
He pulled the trigger. A flag that said BANG! came out. The man sighed with relief. He pulled the trigger again. The pole the flag was on impaled the man.
Joker: "HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!"
He ran down the hallway, holding the flag, and waving it in triumph.
Joker: "Oh, hello Gotham! Joker here! But now you can call me master! Lord! Emperor Joker! That has a nice, oh wait. I skipped a bit. Gotham. I am Joker. I will probably be stopped by a man in tights, but if I'm not, then WATCH OUT!!! Because I have taken my blood-scratch that. My toxic blood, and put in the water line. Sure it's only a little bit, but who cares!?! I don't want to kill you. I just want to make you quiver in fear! To rule you! Ha ha ha ha ha!!! Oh, I'll be back later. Start quivering! -click- Now where is that flying rat?"
WAYNE MANOR
Everyone is standing over a dead body.
Woman: "He went to get some tap water, and he hacked and started choking. His eyes rolled into the back of his head. He gasped in air, and died. I already called the cops."
Bruce: "Good. Don't drink any water. Nothing. I'm going to...bye."
He ran from the kitchen and to the main hall. He set the clock to 10:17, the time his parents died. He pushed a hidden button, and the wall opened. He went in, and down an elevator, leading to the Batcave.
Alfred: "I thought you were taking a break."
Bruce: "But since you're here, you must have known I would be back. Explains why you weren't handing out croutons."
Alfred: "Get the suit on. I found a radio message from that madman."

Joker: (via radio) "-I don't want to kill you. I just want to make you quiver in fear! To rule you! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! Oh I'll be back later. Start quivering!"
Batman: "He's at the radio building. I'm going there first. Then to Gordon."
Alfred: "But Gotham must know."
Batman: "Alfred, that could be all he transmitted at first. Who knows how many toxins he wants to put in the water? He could give out more, this time, in the city."
Alfred: "But what if he doesn't, Master Bruce? Innocent people could die."
Batman: "More people could die if he transmits more. He broke into the GCRB, what if he gets to the main sewer junction?"
Alfred: "But he doesn't want to kill. He wants to rule Gotham."
Batman: "Exactly. So I stop him, and less people die."
Alfred: But what if no one dies at all!?!"
Batman: "Someone already died Alfred! He will kill! He'll kill people. As many people as it takes!"
Alfred: "To do what? Rule Gotham?"
Batman: "To beat me."
He got in the Batmobile, and drove to the GCR.
THE GCRB
Everyone is dead.
Batman: "All dead. Where are you?!?"
Joker: "Right here Bats. Say, you look mad. I know this great psychologist. She treated me at an asylum. I had a thing for her. I think. I don't know, it happened more than two months ago. Yeah, I'm just imagining."
Batman punched him.
Joker: "Well, that was just RUDE! In the middle of an intriguing conversation and you just-"
He punched Joker again.
Joker: "Well you just do that! It's mean, doing that to you're best friend."
Batman: "What?"
Joker: "Face it Bats. I'm a costumed freak. You're a costumed freak. People liked it better before me. People liked it better before you. I mean, you did sorta make me, Dad. HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! Oh, I'm insane. You're insane."
Batman: "No. I'm not."
Joker: "You dress up like a bat. You live in a cave. You aren't afraid of clowns! I'd call that pure insanity right there. We're two sides of the same coin. You're like my least favorite brother."
Batman punched him again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Joker only laughed as cops burst into the room.
WAYNE MANOR
The cops have arrived. The woman is telling them what happened.
Woman: "-and his eyes rolled into the back of his head. After that, he died."
Cop: "Okay. Everyone should leave. Go back to your homes, and don't drink any water. We'll get the word out."
Selina waited until everyone was gone. She went to the Bat-cave.
Alfred: "Hello Miss Kyle. Did you have a good time?"
Selina: "Yes, until someone dropped dead. That sorta killed the party. No pun intended. Where's Bruce?"
Alfred: "Most likely with the Joker. Shall we track him?"
Selina: "Of course we shall. He is on planet Earth. In the USA. We need this to go faster. Gotham. Arkham. He's at Arkham."
Alfred: "The asylum. It does make sense."
Selina: "But Joker isn't with him."
ARKHAM ASYLUM
Batman is telling the doctors that Joker will be there soon.
Batman: "He's at the GCPD. Being held and staying that way until we know it's safe to transfer him. Just a warning. Get a cell in maximum security. Oh no."
Doctor: "What? Something with Joker?"
He took out something that looked like a phone.
Batman: "He's gone. I'll be back with him."
He ran out to the Batmobile, and drove to the GCPD.
THE GCPD BUILDING
He went inside. No one was there. He looked up, and Joker dropped on top of him.
Joker: "Hi Bats! Come to join the party? Or to crash it? Ha ha ha ha ha! Gordon is already here! He's having a wild time! Bound, gagged, hung from the ceiling and at gunpoint! The very definition of fun! Oh, and I think he's going to meet a very special lady."
Batman: "Just kill me then. End this madness."
Joker: "Kill you? Why would I kill you? You're so fun. You change so many subjects! Life would be so... so boring without you. I don't want you dead. I just want you giggling in a corner, bloody, knowing that you lost. That you lost to me. Because I killed Gordon, and everyone you care about. Bleeding, laughing, and crying."
Batman tackled him off the railing. He punched him again and again. He slammed his head into the wall. He kept punching Joker. Again and again and again.
Joker punched Batman, and jumped to his feet. Batman grabbed his arm, and pushed it up from the bottom of the elbow. Joker backed up against a wall. Batman grabbed his other arm, flipped him, and kicked him.
Joker: "Go ahead. Kill me. He he. Do it. DO IT!!!"
Batman: "No! I wouldn't be better than you."
Joker: "That's right."
Batman: "Nothing more than you."
Joker: "It's the truth."
Batman: "But that doesn't mean I won't hurt you. Badly."
Joker: "Are you trying to sound like a bad movie line?"
Joker passed out. Batman brought him to Arkham.
THE BATCAVE
Alfred: "So, the Joker is defeated. Thank God."
Batman: "I know. Hopefully I won't have to deal with anymore 'super-criminals' for awhile. Petty thievery is fine for now."
Alfred: "Oh, and Mr. Fox is working on putting sound tracing into the tracking device."
Batman: "That should be helpful. I hope Harvey is okay. He'll need all the help he can get at
Black-gate."
Selina: "He wasn't moved to Arkham?"
Batman: "He wasn't deemed insane. I guess that 'Big Bad Harv' shut up for a while. Now, how are we gonna get rid of the toxins?"
Alfred: "Um, sir? I'm afraid the Bat-signal has been activated."
Batman: "Oh no."
Selina: "Can I come with you this time?"
Batman: "-sigh- How about next time?"
He got into the Bat-mobile, and drove away.
