Batman is one of the comic book world's most recognizable and popular heroes. Given the announcement that Zack Snyder's Man of Steel takes place in a universe where other superheroes exist, it is very likely we're going to see another franchise in the future. This is an idea I have on the cast for that possible reboot.

Ben Affleck makes great action/drama films. Argo and The Town have both received high praise from critics and moviegoers. I have been considering Affleck as a director for a Batman franchise for a while now, but I never was sure enough about it.

Then, one day, I was in chat and someone said that Affleck was a fan of the comics. That made me sure he would be the director to best handle the situation. Because, as a fan, he wouldn't screw up the source material...as Nolan did.

My idea was to cast someone semi unknown as the caped crusader. The challenge with casting this role is the actor needs to be able to pull off both the rich careless playboy and the dark brooding hero.

Going with my idea of "semi unknown," I went with Davis. I bet a lot of you will recognize him as Reese Witherspoon's ex in Legally Blonde. However, now, he is probably more well known as Alaric Saltzman in the supernatural drama The Vampire Diaries. It was his portrayal of Alaric that made me consider him for casting.

I'm convinced he can be both the rich playboy and the caped crusader.

Of all the actors I've considered for Alfred, Hinds is the youngest (but the way, I also considered Sam Neill and Malcolm McDowell). Hinds is a great Irish actor. Many people would recognize Hinds as Aberforth Dumbledore in the final Harry Potter movie. I'm definitely sure he could be the kind father figure to Bruce.

I saw this in hindsight, he kind of looks like a young Michael Gough.

Everyone knows Affleck is a great director, and he tends to put himself in his movies. So, this really kind of serves as his role within the franchise.

I want to say, EVERYONE KNOWS THE BACKSTORY. So there's no need to put it in the films again. However, Bruce's parents still play a big role in his current life. So they appear in flashbacks.

It seems everyone on this site is against soap operas. That's okay, you're entitled to your opinion. I like to at least look through that pool of actors, because like I said soap operas are this whole untapped reservoir of actors.

I chose Laura because she has this rich, noble beauty that Martha has.

Winona Ryder was also considered.

Esposito is a fairly well known actor, and he's also a phenomenal one. He could play Fox as both the master technician and the man of action that Lucius is.

He's a popular choice for the Penguin actually...but I just don't see it. No denying he's an expert actor. A lot of you might disagree with this choice, but I like it and I think he would OWN this role.

This is a fairly common choice, which you all know I try to go for originality...you know make the choices no one else made before. However, I'm not the familiar with the character to well. However, I also considered Oliver Platt.

This is certainly an unusual choice. Hudson is both a great actress and hot as hell. She, I think anyway, has the look for Vicki.

So in my head, the way the film franchise plays out, Barbara would come first before Dick. Hyland is a great young actress. She has the body for action, even though she has no credits to prove she can do it.

I was gonna make this choice first, but someone beat me to the punch. I didn't want to cast a Disney star, but Howard has a lot of martial arts experience.

Villains: I just want to say that i didn't use all the villains, just some who I thought deserve some screen time.

Need I say anything? Emerson voiced the Joker in the animated adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns. However, physically, I think he'd be better suited to play Hugo Strange.

My original choice was gonna be Kiefer Sutherland, but I felt that he was actually to young. To my knowledge, Deathstroke is in his 60s. Bacon is a good actor who could bring out Deathstroke's ruthlessness.

I know we've seen Bane in both the Nolan trilogy and the Burton-Schumacher trilogy, but we have yet to see him right. Both films played him off as a brutal henchman. He is way more than that. Hardy had it close.

I wanted a Latin actor for a truer bane to the source material. Watch Scandal. Diaz would be a great at making Bane a mental adversary to Batman while the CGI would make him physically superior.

I think Michael could actually play any villain in the Batman universe (minus the female ones). However, his performance in the action film Gamer convinced me he would be best suited for the Riddler. Don't believe me? Watch for yourselves:

This is one of two ideas I'm taking from my live action fan cast for The Dark Knight Returns. Pepper is a HUGELY underrated actor. I first saw him as Lucky Ned in the reboot of True Grit. Looking through his credits, I've seen everything he's been in has been a hit.

This is the other idea I'm taking from the article mentioned above. Rockwell is another underrated but phenomenal actor. His portrayal of an insane inmate in The Green Mile is more than enough to convince he would kill it as the Joker. And just look at the grin.

My mind works in strange ways sometimes. It comes up with these strange ideas. Like this one. While I was looking through options for Harley, I had it in my mind that she HAD to be played by a scream queen.

Panabaker started out as a young actress, mostly doing Disney work. However, she's come a long way from her Disney credits, doing more dark work. With some work, she could be a great Harley.

Manganiello has the physique for Croc, and based on his performance in True Blood he definitely has the voice for Croc.

In my idea for this franchise, Croc would be the first villain Batman faces.

Hot and a good actress. What else is there? And seeing these trailers for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, she has the ability to do action films as well.

Given my idea of originality, Ivy was really hard to cast. I think I hit it on the nail with Knightley though. She has played tough girls and psychos.

Despite his lackluster performance in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones Morrison is actually a really great actor. He gave a decent performance as the dying Abin-Sur in the ABYSMAL Green Lantern, he also starred in this New Zealand film called Tracker opposite Ray Winstone.

Graham looks a lot like Morrison, and that resemblance would make her more convincing as Talia. I know she's 12 years younger than Davis, but hey...that age gap worked for Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook. The other thing is that age gap would make is believable that she's immortal.

Jason Issacs is an amazing actor who is a jack of all trades. You give him a role, and he'll play it amazingly. He would be both a terrifying and saddening Freeze.
