Here is my Fancast of THE DEFENDERS movie. I would love to see this actually made! I always liked The Defenders non-team status! I’d have them up against THE OFFENDERS led by the RED HULK.
I would start out with the old Defenders and then when Doc Strange, Hulk, Namor and Silver Surfer leave I would have NIGHTHAWK (Kyle Richmond) bring in the new DEFENDERS. This would be awhile after the Avengers movie.
Like in the comic, Iron Man, as head of the Avengers Initiative, asks Kyle Richmond to reform The Defenders to fight for New Jersey. But the new group proves to be inept and Iron Man disbands them. But Kyle Richmond brings the group back together, retrains them, and fights outside The Initiative, kind of renegade heroes.
There was always a lot of twisted humor in The Defenders so I would have it with quite a bit of well-done vicious dark humor. There is not a lot of time between the old Defenders and the new Defenders. This idea takes place right after the Avengers movies (which I hope Dr. Strange will eventually be in so this movie can segue from the Avengers to the Defenders with him). There will not be much time (like in the comics) between the old Defenders forming and leaving and the new Defenders coming in with Hellstorm, Hellcat and Valkyrie staying on to reform with the new Nighthawk, She-hulk, Blazing Skull and Krang.
Kyle Richmond brings in Joaquin Pennyworth, Shield agent and son of his former enemy, prior leader of the Sons of the Serpent, African American J.C. Pennyworth (who previously worked for Richmond Enterprises), to lead the group as the new NIGHTHAWK. Together THE DEFENDERS battle RED HULK and THE OFFENDERS in their new plan to destroy She-hulk and all the Defenders and eventually THE AVENGERS!
