Click here to check out my fan-cast for the 2001 Disney film 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire'....

First off, let me start by saying that I had a tonne of fun doing this fan-cast because to this day, 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire' is one of my favorite Disney animated films.

Some of the voice actors were nearly impossible to replace (Jim Varney) and a couple of the voice actors I kept for a live-action adaption because they were so perfect for the role.

Set in the year 1914, the film tells the story of a young linguist who gains possession of a sacred book which he believes will guide him to the Lost city of Atlantis. He is enlisted by a band of archaeologists, excavators and mercenaries who also want to find the city, but their leader plans to sabotage the mission, in order to take the profit for himself.

Depending on the reaction to this fan-cast, I might do a few more animated movies if people request it.

- Milo James Thatch - Originally voiced by Michael J. Fox
Joseph Gordan Levitt

A linguist and cartographer who has studied the Atlantean culture and learned to translate the Atlantean language. He is logical-minded, brave, timid, and always tries to do the right thing.

OR

James McAvoy

He was my second choice but I went with JGL because he's two years younger, and kind of has that skinny but still lean body type of Milo. But I decided to add McAvoy in here because some of you guys like him better for the role.

- Helga Katrina Sinclair - Originally voiced by Claudia Christian.
Angeline Jolie

Lieutenant Helga Katrina Sinclair, Rourke's blond, seductive second-in-command.

- Commander Rourke - Originally voiced by James Garner
Tommy Lee Jones

Commander Lyle Tiberius Rourke, an aging commander, leader of the Atlantis expedition.

- Gaetan 'The Mole' Moliere - Originally voiced by Corey Burton
Omid Djalili

39-year-old French geologist. He always seems to have good senses of smell and taste for dirt, capable of examining samples of dirt, rock, and even fingerprints in a microscopic level. He is easily excited, and at his happiest when digging.

- Preston B. Whitmore - Originally voiced by John Mahoney
John Mahoney

Preston B. Whitmore, a wealthy and kind millionaire who funds the expedition to Atlantis. Yoga seems to be a favorite hobby of his.

- Dr. Joshua Strongbear Sweet - Originally voiced by Phil Morris
Morris Chestnut

An African-American/Native American medic. He is a kindly man with a friendly, if boisterous, nature.

- Vincenzo 'Vinny' Santorini - Originally voiced by Don Novello
Hank Azaria

Vincenzo "Vinny" Santorini, an Italian demolition expert. He mentions that his family owns a flower shop, but he generally loves "blowing things up". Whitmore claims to have "busted him out of a Turkish prison".

- Audrey Rocio Ramirez - Originally voiced by Jacqueline Obradors
Michelle Rodriguez

udrey Rocio Ramirez, a teenage female Puerto Rican mechanic, and the youngest member of the expedition. She is a bit of a tomboy, but her tough attitude hides a caring, sweet personality.

- Wilhelmina Bertha Packard - Originally voiced by Florence Stanley.
Cloris Leachman

Wilhelmina Bertha Packard, the elder and sarcastic radio operator, who consistently speaks in monotone.

- Princess 'Kida' Kidagakash - Originally voiced by Cree Summer
Grace Park

The princess of Altantis. It is mentioned that she is over 8000 years old during the time when Milo discovered her city. Despite this, she has a beautiful, youthful appearance. She is concerned for the state of her people and cares for them up to the point of offering herself to the Heart.

- Jebidiah Allardyce 'Cookie' Farnsworth - Originally voiced by Jim Varney.
Christopher Lloyd

- King Kashekim Nedakh - Originally voiced by Leonard Nemoy
Leonard Nemoy

King of Atlantis and Kida's father. It is implied that he is more than 8,800 years old and is in a very frail state.

And just for fun, a lot of people have claimed that James Cameron's 'Avatar' and this movie share a lot of the same details so I thought I'd share this small this of the similarities between the two.

- Warrior Princess that wears hardly anything
- Villain who is pretty old, muscular and an army veteran.
- Young, pushy Hispanic girl who is good with machinery (Avatar: Planes, Atlantis: Vehicles)
- They are after a very expensive mineral in which taking it might kill all the land's inhabitants
- The Navi/Atlanteans are all connected to one big tree/crystal.
- The color BLUE
- The main guy is assigned to get familiar with the princess and they end up falling in love
- Epic aerial battle at the end.
- The final confrontation between good guy and bad guy: After beating up on the main guy, the bad guy holds him up by some part of his body and almost kills him with large, sharp object. The bad guy is stopped by the princess (Neytiri's bows she shoots at him, and Kida's crystallized glass
- The main guy staying in that specific place to be with his woman.

If there's any other cool animated movie you'd like me to fan-cast just let me know in the comments section.

good cast Djalli as the mole is great. Not sure about Rocio pick since she's not a "teen", Grace park is great but I can't really see her as Kida. Jolie would suit that role better but what ever. Decent cast anyways

great cast!:) The film is one of my favorites too!

I prefer Gordon-Levitt.

Tommy Lee Jones is bullseye choice as Rourke i love that choice but nowadays i think he is getting little too old to play the role. Rourke has to be fast and talented fighter. And i think great although [frick]ing easy replacements would be either Stephen Lang or Liam Neeson.
