Hello and I'm The Comic Critic,

Phase 2 of Marvel is moving fast now, with Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 on their way 2013 seems to be an exciting year. To mention possibly Ant-Man finally getting his own film plus Gaurdians of The Galaxy. With all of this in store for us we have to wonder, what would The Avengers 2 be about. It has been rumored Thanos was going to be the villian for Gaurdians of The Galaxy, so if Thanos is stopped in that film would their be a point of him being in Avengers 2. Or how about Loki we would have to wait and see what happens to him in Thor 2. But the Marvel Universe is endless and many things could happen. Including an Alternate Universe or time being reversed endlessly until the clock runs out.

In my opinion, The Avengers 2 should be about our heroes being trapped in an alternate timeline where Loki has ruled Earth and all hell is loose every kind of demon or creature you name it. How might this happen may you ask, possibly Thanos creates a deadly rift between both time and space creating alternate outcomes of previous events and major what if's. As so what if in a world where Tony Stark never became Iron Man or What if Agent Coulson is still alive. We will see these different what if outcomes and more alternate back and forth throughout the film itself creating an interesting movie piece. As if it was Inception but based in The Marvel Universe itself. I think Fox holds the rights to The Watcher because of Fantastic Four so they could invent a new version for the film. Loki and Thanos will be seen in supporting roles as they set part of this story also including the aliens. It would connect ever single previous film spanning across different and alternate timelines and such.

Now this may seem like a strange idea but it could work. It would involve many plot twist too throughout. It also opens the way to introduce new characters or heroes we have not seen yet since one of the alternate timelines I imagine takes place in the future. Joss Whedon has said in an interview it's better to go on a smaller scale and this would be the perfect chance to do so if they advanced with this type of story.

If you have any comments or suggestions post in the comics and I'll read them below.

Whedon stated months ago he wanted to make Avengers 2 smaller and more personal for the characters...i doubt an alternate timeline of the first film is gonna be wasted for the sequel...Im more curious what personal issues or villians that are personally connected to our heroes will show up...Red Skull's return perhaps?

SIDE STORY- I was watching Iron Man again today, and the scene where Pepper blows up the Arc Reactor on Stane...the beam of light it shoots into the air reminded me of the scene where the Tesserect beams Red Skull to God { or Odin in MCU case } knows where...Do u think since Howard Stark had the cube all those years, he may have tried himself to tap into its power but was unable to, but just resorted to harnessing a power close enough to it and making it into Arc Reactor technology?

Also if u listen, the sound Tony's repulsors make is almost similiar to that of the sound of the Hydra weaponry in TFA...

Id rather they keep the alternate timeline plot for the next X-Men film as they said it will based on Days of Future past, Avengers 2 can live without it.

I could see time travel working if KANG was the villain, Loki could cameo, along with a bunch of other characters, but yeah - just a glimpse of an alternate future, if that.

In television, the alternate future and flashback episodes are some of the coolest - Heroes had two good ones in the first season.

Here, you would have to have a lot more characters established first.

@ComicCritic

"a human is able to walk from first crawling in their earlier child years to the concept of running"

That's the point isn't it? Marvel introduced their characters to the movie universe and planted seeds for the tesseract.
(Baby Steps)

Avengers unified the characters and expanded that universe
(Walking)

Going forward key things that need to be addressed are the relationships now that they are a team and the threats that continue to brings them together. (Running)

What you suggest is akin to going from walking to gymnastics

1.We haven't explored these characters enough to warrant seeing evil or alternate versions of them yet.

2. Thanos causing a rift would affect everyone, how would the Avengers be aware of this rift and why would they Assemble? Thanos has been revealed to us not the Avengers.

3. Inception hinged on the fact that each dream impacted on the next. How does Tony not being Iron Man impact on this universe?
